i went on a trip recently and put all my clothes and stuff in the trunk, halfway down got some food out and everything was fine. we got there and the latch wouldn't open it, this was wonderful as i put all my tools in the......trunk! i thought maybe the cable stretched. i tryed putting tension on it and pulling it more but no luck. my key isn't working in it either, a locksmith said that if its been accessed only by the latch for years it tends to seize up back there so i sprayed fluid film in it and hoping for the best but as the rear seats dont come down im wondering if i can remove them from the inside? im closing in on almost a week and i need clothes! lol thanks for any help guys

pretty sure you can take the rear seats out to gain access. i haven't done it myself but look at the Service Manual and it should tell you.

you need to take out 2x 10 or 12mm bolts to remove the back of the seat and behind it there's thin a piece of wood or cardboard (didn't really bother to check whenever I took the back seat out) that seems to be held by plastic clips (as far as I can remember). You should be able to take it out easily.Alex

Been there done that. On the first night of owning the car, driving it home some 3500km away, I locked the only key in the trunk (like in a movie, when the guy has the key in his mouth while grabbing stuff and as it closes the keys fall in).
Anyways, the top section of the seat is easy to get out ( pull up once the bolts are removed on the lower sides). The bottom just needs to be pulled up REALLY REALLY hard, in the front as close to where it gets tight (where the tie down is). After that, a socket or wrench if you have lots of time will get the hatch opened. After than, flashlight and a little bit of a tight fit will get you in. After you're done, get the damn thing fixed. I know I got 3 keys now lol.No build thread.

I bet your stuff moved the latch disabler switch in the inside of the trunk; all it does is stop the lever inside from working. I don't think the Valet key opens the trunk so I suppose it's a valet lock.2015 Audi RS7 Sepang Blue

well thanks everyone for the help, yes it was the switch lol i found the hardest part was getting the bottom seat section, i read on gtr.co.uk to push between the prongs with a screwdriver and pull up lol it was a little rough but i got it and had a look at how it works so now i know. the back of the seats went back in remarkably easy too. thanks everyone for the help, very much appriciated!
