  • NUR spec no start

    Hey
So i finished installing my new nur spec but when i went to crank it over it was a bust. With it i installed the jun surge tank, apexi pfc, and R34 Cam sensor. The engine tries to crank over but there is no spark, and no injector pulse. Is it perhaps because the pfc i got was for r32 block, would that make any difference? any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Yes,the pinout on the CAS is different from R32 to R34 CAS.

Yury, are you using the R34 CAS? It sounds like a ECU or wiring issue if you are not getting injector and ignition.

        The problem is your ECU.

hook up the r32 crank angle sensor and try again. should resolve your issue,

Yes I am using the R34 Cam Sensor as I was told I had to. The ECU is brand new, never been used, does it come with pre programmed? if not does any one have the manual for it

Your wiring to your R34 cas is incorrect. I have a R34 engine with R34 cas in my R32 with an R32 Power Fc ECU.

the r32 harness does plug into the r34 cas with no problems correct? so i dont know how my wiring can be incorrect.

The signal on the Hitachi CAS is reverse of the DSM silver one. You need to rewire the plug

                  You have a few options

                  1- Rewire the plug (easiest)

2- Run a r32 CAS. 32/33 exhaust cams are differnt than 34 because of the cas. you would need 32/33 cams (tomei poncams work great)

3-Buy a computer that will let you run either and select R34 (Vipec has this ability, and flat shift :-D

I believe the CAS is even labeled with the markings that tell you what pin is what function on the CAS. Compare those markings with the one from a R32/33 CAS and switch the pins accordingly. I believe the power requirements, and the output signal type are the same so it shoudl work when you rewire it, but it has been a while since I have done anything with the R34 CAS so you might want to verify that part of it with someone that has them both on hand.
I have R32's and R33's here at the shop, but no R34 GTRs or I would check it out for sure. Sorry, but I hope you getting it running soon.
