paint job question!!!

planing on getting a GTR by the end of august and i have my eyes set on one, problem is it might need a paint job for my likeing and i was wondering if anyone knew any shops with pre set quotes or if anyone did a re-paint on their car and how much it cost them?? i worked as a detailer for honda for 2 months and i got a few friends who can help me with the priming process so how much would it cost without the primmer and with it....ohh and is ther a cost difference when painting just the exterior and frames rather than painting the whole car like the engine bay the frame everything?? Thx a bunch.

price is roughly 1500 just exterior and 3000-4000 with door jams, trunk jams, engine bay with all glass removed etc. It also depend how much body work you need.

You wont save much money by priming the car yourself. Most professional shops will re-prime your car, they will not just paint your primed car. Don't cheap out on the prep job and that's the most important steps to make the paint look good and last long.

I would suggest going to different shops and look at the colour chart and talk to tell about a quote. You'll get a better idea that way.

i got mine painted about a month ago me and my friend did all the prep work he painted the door jams we had the glass removed and all that crap, took it there the body shop did some more touching up then painted the car and then all the body parts did a perfect job and it was only 1800$ and thats metallic paint and everything (350Z orange) I will post some pics when she's all back together right now im swapping out the dead tranny with the new one then putting the body back together and putting the windshields back in. So much work so little time. I'm sorry i went on about nothing useful all in all the total cost with windshield removal body filler and all about 2200$ not bad for a 6000$ job if i were to just drop off the car.
