AB inspection, Side markers and 3rd brake light :S

Hi guys,

After lengthy and very informative reading i still have a few concern about doing an OOP on my GTR, I bought the car trought a broker from a private seller in BC, i had the car transported to Northen Alberta now the only thing missing is the insurance and the plates.

This GTR as is has no rear/side markers has BMW X3 healights with daytime running lights, no marking on the lenses or anywhere around them of DOT certification and no 3rd brake light. It was previously plated from BC an just passed an Aircare inspection.

Any of you see any problems I should be worried about before booking the OOP appointement ?

I've seen some with some without, it doesn't seem like there is any kind of standard applied.

To my knowledge, you don't need side markers or a third brake light for inspection in Alberta. I have passed inspection without DOT headlights or even DRLs.

I live in Edmonton and I needed a 3rd brake light and side markers. But I got lucky when I bought my GT-R because it was already installed all I had to do was put in DOT headlights.

ok...well lokks like I'll just take my chances and see what happens, worst case it's a fail and more cost to make it to the standards I'll have to meet.

Depends 100% on how much the mechanic you take it to "cares".
Some will let it slide knowing that the likelyhood that it will ever come back to them is slim to none.
Others dare not chance it. I had to get both for mine.

My GTR passed OOP in JDM stock form with No DRL, No Marker, No Third Light.

just take it to ok tire the place by a&w and talk to kevin tell him Phil Wilton sent you he is the tire tec he should be able to help you

i had no third brake lite, had rear side marker lights, no front signal light with clear lens & reflector built in, little cut in front rebar, dot took my plates
