Well ,my car is almost here and I'm already getting chalenged to good 'ol fashioned American drag races! It won't be happening on city streets of course.
The biggest challenge is gonna be up against a co-workers '05 Mustang GT. His car is no slouch tho, its got long tubes, cat delete (not a fan) Ford racing cams, and a dyno tune. The car was built by Matt at DaSilva racing, and it is pretty quick. He says it runs high 12's to low 13's.
I guess my question is, does my R33 with a tune, down pipe and cat back stand a chance of destroying this white trash Ferrari? And if so what RPM should I launch it at?
How do you guys launch your cars? I hear alot of people saying that they dump the clutch at 7 grand and let the Attesa do the work, but that seems pretty harsh for my new baby-

if he managed a 12.08 ur dead in 1/4 mile or more. The range of times means he dosen't know how to drive it or traction is an huge issue. These things (GTR's) brand new would only do a 12.8-12.9 on a perfect launch. 15 years later ur in the mid 13's low 14's. Save your clutch and don't bother. The mustang won't break in the race but the GTR may.
