  • Stock Motor+Stock Turbos+Standalone ECU=?

I have a BNR32 and am planning on rebuilding the motor and turbos. I don't want to spend too much money on the car initially I want to get to know if I like it first. The plans are to rebuild the motor and turbos, get an standalone (I'm thinking apexi power FC) and do some minor reliability mods. Of course I would be using an aftermarket head gasket and boost controller and little things like that but I don't want to get into internals or aftermarket turbos (unless there is a single turbo that would cost the same or close to the amount to rebuild my stock ones?).

Anyways, I was wondering what kind of power I can expect to put out after rebuilding the motor, turbos, thick head gasket, and standalone. Are bigger injectors necessary?

Anyone have any experience with apexi power fc? Any downsides to the system?

I'm new to Nissans, what kind of reliability mods are in order?

    Thanks in advance,

I have a power FC in my car. I needed to get rid of my stock JDM tuned ecu as it didn't run well on local fuel. I just run a stock R33 GTR tune for now however the program is easy to use. IMO the powerFC is fine for someone that just wants a mild system, and isn't going be pushing for big pwoer in their car. It is an old 8 bit style system with not as much resolution as newer systems. If you want to run agressive cams, and huge fuel systems, with a gigantic single and make 700WHP plus I would personally run something like a Haltech Platinum as it has much better resolution for ragged edge tuning.

So far the powerFC is fine in my mostly stock car. when I can get to an AWD dyno I am sure I can get more power too.
