i don't have a GTR yet as i will be away from home for the next 8 months and am likely going to start the importing process not long after i get back. my intention right now is to use it as a daily driver and also in the winter. am i insane and what are everyone's thoughts on this. i realize its clearly better to get a beater for the winter i just dont think i could take having it and not driving it.

ya gts are just rwd but awd the car is still gonna slide but anyways you will have to protect it from the harsh condition here i would just invest in a beat, you can try to winter drive it but you will change your mind after seeing all the shitty snow and gravel all over your babyCheck out Top Tier Imports. thats true but do you think it would be alright if it were washed regularly? a friend of a friend owns a Silvia and tried driving it in the winter and said it was just murder to the body, but he said his friend drove his GTR in the winter and it was fine in terms of that

If you can, get a beater cause of the reasons foxracing said. But im pretty sure with a good set of winters the GTR will handle without much problems. You can also get undercoating done for the undebody, but it will not eliminate the forming of rust but may reduce it. Overall get a Beater, cause i personally cant stand rust and i wont even dare winter driving my gtr lol

Please buy something lower than cat 4, PLEASE. Keep the mint GTRs off the snow for the love of god. Those cars rust if you look at them wrong.
Seriously, the parts weren't designed with snow and mind, a lot of crevices and exposed gaps makes it very rust prone to canadian winters. Trust me, your rear fenders will crack and bubble in the first year if it touches snow.
Again, take a beat up GTR on the snow, keep the mints off the snow!! It would break my heart.1992 BNR32 SKYLINE GTR

Btw, general consensus is that washing it doesn't actually help, because the salt that's over the paint is inert until is gets soluble in water. So when you wash you actually can make it worse by spreading saline water around.1992 BNR32 SKYLINE GTR
