Ebay oil lines

I also got set of ebay oil lines and fittings cheap. I am going to take them to work and pressurize them on a hyd. test bench to see if they leak at the fitting. Here is another place that sells good fittings at a reasonable price. http://www.anfittingsdirect.com/inde...20b8828a0fc847

Once you start modifying your car, you'll realize that they're not so overpriced as most parts are if you buy top name brands. Like a tomei oil pump for example, $1800 or something? an N1 is like $400.

Dont be confused, the Tomei pump and N1 pump are COMPLETELY different. The N1 pump is basically a factory pump, the Tomei is a huge upgrade. That is why there is a big price difference, it's not because of brand, it's because of the entire pump design and quality.

Factory/N1 pump = same class
Nismo/Tomei/HKS/Jun = same class

So many people believe the N1 pump is some little 10,000+ rpm miracle for $350, then they whine and cry when it blows up. It's not rated for more than factory redline, whereas the others will be able to take it, and provide more oil flow as well.

I agree with everything you said 100%. I've modified tons of cars an definitely agree paying for quality parts with R&D is the way to go, but sometimes a copy can be alright IMO. I installed these lines and they are decent qualitly for sure, and the fitting/restrictors are decent as well. I had to, and still do to get things perfect, install and remove the lines/fittings/turbos multiple times. Nothing broke, stripped, or felt cheap during the process. An example of the way I look at it is... I would buy a Greddy knock off plenum, or maybe (maybe not..) Rota's, but you sure as hell wouldn't see me putting stickers on either! :| One thing the trips me out is the price of the split twin turbo piping kits good companies charge. I find it slightly rediculous.

P.S....... How on earth has this not been moved yet?!?!?

someday when i have lots of money (a guy can dream cant he?) im gonna build a gts-t using parts bought only off ebay, and as many of them generic brands as possible, just to be a benchmark and test them, i am slowly moving my way through the drift world, still a begginer but would rock em hard and see what holds up and what doesnt

This has been done before ! It was actually quite impressive. I think an internally stock RB20 made something wild like 500whp with ALL ebay bolt ons, including the turbo. It has only publicly done 3 dyno pulls, so far no information on whether it's being driven today.
