if you have the cash for carbon, go for it, it doesn't mind slip as much as steel, and sticks more and more with higher temps

That all depends on the application and how you drive, Gtr owners in is have killed brand new exedy and OS twins in 1 day of racing. Other guys have reported over 35000km with no issues. I spent weeks researching clutches singles, twins, triples - all brand names and prices - all different clutch materials and applications each clutch was used for - I think I read every clutch review known to man that was posted online lol ! In the end analyze the info you are givenand decide what you feel works best for you. My choice after it all was the OG twin with the biggest diameter disks available from OS. This clutch is proven and I couldn't be happier. Plus Ryan at vex is awesome to deal with!

Clutch life is all about how you drive. Launching hard is a good way to use up a clutch, so if you do this, go big.
Street driving and circuit racing does nit need to be hard on a clutch. I'm in the 35,000 km category, but I rarely put power through the clutch while slipping it.
ORC 709 twin has served me well!

I have used a OSG twin which lasted about 40 x 7000 rpm launches, a nismo twin which never failed and now going with a Carbonetic twin. the only problems I dislike with OSG and carbonetic is the fact that they're unsprung hubs and chatter...

I have only ever brought in 2 Carbon clutches and installed one. We have it in a 650 whp Supra and it is a beautiful clutch it works flawlessly. Before i sell one to anyone I tell them that they wear out faster then cerametalic and are very expensive. I will try and talk people out of Carbon Exedy for those reasons, but heh if you want one call me. I had a very bad experiance with Carbonetic.

I, until now, had not heard of many issues with Carbonetics and came across a 900ps twin turbonetic clutch some time ago for less than $1,500....

Cam, what happened to your carbonetic?

Crazy! The seller of this clutch supposedly installed it wrong and the discs vaporized. Had to buy 2 new ones. Haven't found similar claims so I guess it was installed wrong, somehow.
