I hear alot of great things about the Synapse BOVs, they seem to cure alot of things, even things you didn't know you had....lol. My input is a little skewed though, I don't want my power to come in instantly, I'd be in the ditch. NA type throttle response is great if you are under 500hp, pushing 700 though I want a little buildup before she comes on full song, both to save parts and to let the chassis settle in. The only thing you need to do is change your driving style a little, I've come to know how much lag there is going to be in most situations and adjust my throttle inputs accordingly. Or I can just keep her wound up above 6000rpm and have virtually no lag.

They run a Synapse BOV on 829rwhp+ Supra with T51 turbo -

Enjoy the videos and music you love, upload original content, and share it all with friends, family, and the world on YouTube.

The off boost, then back on boost with nearly instant response and no lag can be seen at 0:50+. Does the same on my car.

There's a Supra in Canada with over 900rwhp, Synapse BOV.

Also the new version of Synapse BOV for GTR has a better flange to BOV design. Better than the one I have.

I thought it was alot of marketing hype with Synapse BOV and hearing about horror stories of it leaking, etc. But most of those stories are due to using aftermarket hoses, etc (not the Synapse hoses, etc) and not installing correctly. Once installed properly with correct hoses, etc it's been flawless so far.

uhhh.... i feel like this comment is going to open a whole can of worms but here goes : speaking from a mechanics point of view you can run either on or off, but somewhere in some office somewhere at the nismo factory in japan back in the late 80's when they designed the car some engineer who was paid a lot of money for his expertiese in the field of automotive enginiering took a multitude of things into consideration and came to the conclusion that designing the car with a recirculation valve (not a bov btw :P) was a better setup than running without. my opinion is if it came with one run with one because it was designed that way.

I don't have MAFs, I don't need a recirculating valve, nor do I need a BOV. I'm also too cheap to spring for a Synapse to try it out.

There are also well documented reasons to run a recirc. if you have a stock ECU and MAFs. There are also well documented reasons why a plain brg turbo can live with throttle surge much better than a ball brg turbo can. Those of us discussing this are well beyond a stock type setup.

You need to break up your thoughts a little to make it easier to read. Kinda looks like character diarea..........Oh, and welcome.

I don't know Skym, that sounds like more lag than I have. I have less than .5sec on an angry gear change. For a 3 litre and a turbo that is supposed to be much better than mine spool wise, she takes forever to get up on the turbo (sounds like 5000rpm). Hmmmmm.........the Synapse sounds good though.

Ya if you are running the Maf sensors then they get confused when they sense air moving past when you vent to atmosphere between shifts makes you run rich for a split second between shifts because the air moves so fast ( correct me if I'm wrong here) apparently a good tune can get around this but if your using a map sensor on an after market ecu then it diesnt hurt anything to just run atmospheric b.o.v.'s I would like to do this as it would get rid of those finicky Maf sensors
