Just noticed a RB20 sticker on my GTR hood lol

Hey guys,

Just noticed that the sticker for the engine specs on my hood, is for a RB20. lol



I always though it was just the GTR that had aluminum hood. Soo, I'm assuming the
sticker was put there, but why would they do that ???

Any thought ?

probably a cut GTST hood into GTR hood..a lotta guys do it

If the hood feels like any hood you've lifted, it's a GTST steel hood. My GTR's alum hood feels like a feather in comparison to my Sentra's.

Like I said, I thought only the GTR had the aluminum hood, but if the did cut a GTS hood which it REALLY doesn't look like it,
they done a spotless jobs. lol

And yes the Vin tag is all intact, and all the number do match.

The sticker does look like there could be an other one under, but since the WHOLE car had a professional
paint jobs just before I bought it. (no it wasn't crashed, bought it from a friend I graduated with, he is/was
a great body paint, who work/worked in what I consider the best body shop around, and did an amazing job.
And I did see the car before he did the work and It was already in great shape.)
Since there is a tad of paint overlap on the sticker I won't try to look under it unfortunately.

I just find it really odd to find that sticker. Doesn't make sense, from the parts that where put on the car,
the old owner in japan doesn't seam to be the cheap kind either.

And with a full 3.5" kakimoto GT 1.0Z exhaust from the cat (well what looks like a cat that goes from 3"
to 3.5" lol) (no resonator) I don't think it would be for emission, and wouldn't the RB20 have smaller
emission anyway.

And the hood does feel really light. Like I could play Frisbee with it. lol

This is definitively a GTR hood and like you said perhaps it was once swapped into a GTS with the sticker added to past the Japanese vehicle inspection (like the shift pattern sticker if you have an aftermarket shift knob), then it made it's way to your car.

I have a GTS and it came stock with a GTR aluminum hood. It came as part of my sports limited package. I checked for a sticker but I think the previous owner removed it. It looks like your sticker is to the right of the deadening material but mine is clean there.

Aero front bumper
Side skirts and rear spats

That's probably what happened. I checked for any clues, has to if it was ever in an accident.
But every parts on the front end is spotless, no signs at all of any damage or changed parts.

But I'm not sure how many owner this car had, I'm thinking it might have had a carbon
hood at one time and it was changed over to the stock one later on.

Still funny that they left the sticker. Aldo I do have to say it's not really something
you usually look at to much.

A cut GTS hood is not aluminum, however clean of a cut you make, it is very heavy compared to the GTR hood and you can tell just lifting it. I had to jump a fellow GTS and when we put the noses together and popped the hoods we were amazed on the weight difference, night and day.
