    $240??? RIP!
All it is, is a switch on the ignition line. Any switch will do. You can pickup similar one son ebay for WAY less. Example:

hmmm the 240$ one is a hell of alot better than that ebay garbage. The ebay one you still gotta use your key and either use your cig lighter hole or drill a big nasty hole somewhere, then its still only start and stop.

The 240$ one has alot more features and acts more like the start buttons in newer cars, no keys needed at all, the button does everything.

The thing im curious about is does it have its own FOB so it knows when YOU are in the car and not a theif? It says it ties into factory keyless systems and uses the factory FOB... r32's didnt have that. I have a 2 way compustar alarm and I wonder if this button would tie in with my aftermarket key FOB.

the install guide for the 240$ shows you have to cut a key !?!?! wtf...

LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL! Then what is the point of paying $240 to have something similar to the ebay one AND cutting a key?
I rather have the ebay one and put in/pull out the key each time. If it was a newer car, something with keyless entry and a FOB and yes sure, the $240 is a much better option.

if this could be integrated to be used with my compustar 2way remote, then id rock one of these lol go get a cheap key cut, then cut the head off of it, put a cap over the ignition cylinder and your done, then atleast it would perform the same as any new car with push start

I'm not a cheap f#€*er so I'd probably go with style like he did. Cheap eBay crap isn't my thing, otherwise I'd be rolling ebay intercooler, rad, ecu, oil cooler, stereo; rims, so on. Maybe he can afford the luxury.

                Do it!!!
                No build thread.

you wouldnt be cheaping out, youd just be smart.

all it is is a by pass switch, go to any electronics store and get a button for 50cents - 2 dollars its the same thing.
all you are paying for is instructions and the fact that it says "engine start" on it. and if thats what you want just do a Google search for a DIY and buy what Kenger posted.

or if you are to lazy to do that , spend a couple of 20's on one of these http://www.ignitedperformance.com/sh...&parent=6&pg=1

I am not sure where talk of being cheap, or buying eBay inter coolers, rad, etc came from. Those are VITAL engine components and I would never condone buying EBAY BRAND ones, but if you can get NAME brand for cheap ON eBay then why not? Again as Rabbit and I said, all it is, is a switch on the ignition line. ANY switch will do. If you want to shell out that much dough for a little extra pleasantries to the eyes, then sure. But if you want THE EXACT SAME FUNCTIONALITY for WAY less, you can buy what Rabbit or I posted.

at the end of the day a few of you are missing the point that those cheap little buttons DONT offer the same feature , jeez guys who wants to get into your car, turn the key to "on" then reach down and press a button... why not just turn the key 1 more click since your already using your key.

A TRUE PUSH START works like the OP posted. Uses passive keyless entry with a FOB, can be programmed so when you walk up to your car the car automatically unlocks, no key to get in. Then you sit down with your keys in your pocket, put your foot on the break and press "Start" and the car starts up.

LOL @ saying its the same as just a switch from radio shack Its not. Unless you dont care how it functions, sure if you just want a button on the dash that says "Start" buy the cheap POS. If you care about function dont bitch out and buy a real push start system.

Agreed the 240 is far more functional buying the cheap one would be in the same category as putting a cheap (but huge) aluminum wing on my skyline lol and I'm no ricer. Pointless mods ruin your car. The expensive switch is actually functional. But I would be concerned about your fob having a proximity sensor I know alot of the cars already equipped with the keyless system have a proximity transmitter in the key so I'm not sure if the compustar or similar would be equipped to interface let us know how it works out cause I like it.
