  • Opinions on single turbo

hey guys, i have a r32 gtr with hks t04E single turbo with a blown seal leaking oil. The turbo has been in the car since it came from japan 7+ years ago, so i think its time to get a new one. I was looking at garrett gt35r, what do you guys think..anyone running one on their skyline?

i know a guy running one on his gtr. but imho its a little small. if your going to go big single make it a big single or else its just useless lag...

Injectors need to he your first purchase. 550 will not feed a single any bigger than what you have.

I was thinking 700 for injectors, borg warner s300 83-75 goes for $2000+, but the t04z/r goes for just over a grand. Both are capable of 700whp. I'm guessing the bg will spool quicker than the t04 but the price difference could pay for my meth kit

Get a 67mm if you want a little more go with a 72mm , 850cc to 1000cc injectors, Two Walbros and a tune.

whats the difference between the EFR and Airwerks series turbos? Why the big price difference? I dont mind spending more if its to do with build quality, it would just set me back for the injectors, meth...etc

do more research bud. the efr is borgwarners newest line it incorporates the bov and wastegate into one unit on the turbo. where the airwerks series is just your regular t4 twinscroll turbo. i would stick with the airwerks if i was you dont get in too deep.

Difference is being able to get one vs not being able to get one lol. Nah, tons different... First time in a lonnng time that the turbo design has been significantly change. In this case it was modified specificaly for track automotive applications.

Wait times on the EFR is huge right now. Worth it IMO, that's what I'm getting
