  • could i get an opinion?

this has been up for sale for a long time. probably a reason for it. what do you guys think? i want to get into a skyline but cant afford a lemon. opinions?

    thanks in advance

honestly if you cant afford a leamon you prob cant afford a skyline. however if your really set on getting one do your background on it. compression test leak down test etc.

I remember I went and saw this car back before I got my GTR. I think he was trying to sell it for $12k or so back then. When I saw it, it was in pretty good condition, seemed to run fine. Be careful though, the seller struck me as a bit flaky and that's why I moved on.

Mods, can you clean this thread up please? Degenerated from a simple request for some assistance to essentially childish name calling, totally off topic now.

To the OP, like any used car you have to do some checking before buying. Shell out for an inspection, compression test, etc, could save you money in the long run. Good luck!

Dont forget to ask if the 100K service (timing belt etc) has been done before you buy so that you include those costs in your budget.

The car looks nice cosmetically with the exception of the intake plenium, since the paint is flaking pretty badly it could have been beaten on earlier in life. I know there are differing opinions on this but this is a common occurence on beaten on skylines.

As people have said above a compression check and mechanical inspection should be done by a trusted mechanic before buying. Also you need to make sure you choose the mechanic and pay the bill so that you are assured they act in your best interest. Good luck.

Gotta love the winter-like attitude from everyone! IMO spend money on building a crazy motor. Then buy a shell or a cheap skyline with decent body. If I went back in time with the knowledge I have now that's exactly what I'd do. I'm actually looking into building an LS1 even though I don't have anything to put it in yet lol
Dang! You got shocks, pegs... Lucky! You ever take it off any sweet jumps?
