trade ur gtr for a gts gut it drop it , delete hicks and your golden ...if you search the forums u will start to realize most of the drift
projects if not all of them are based on the gt-s platform with a rb25 or a 1jz or 2jz for the power plant ...but when it comes to drifting u need to have a good suspension setup is the place to start

    just my two cents

GTS' place to shine. You'll have a better learning experience through this as well. Or just get a 240sx and beat it up

I agree with 26 addict about the suspension part been the most important part. As for chassis at the end of the day use what you want. I currently have a gts and love it. The gtr has a couple things that would sway me to keep it, if I were you.

Beefier diff, already have wider front fenders, to put wider wheel/tire combos. Helps steer driftcar.

Sure your going to have to probably upgrade to Z32 front knuckles but I say keep ur gtr. Ask Rwd_gtr he has done the swap! Aswell as C_unit on here.

Can't he just get a hicas lockbar from driftworks, remove that one fuse or the front driveshaft to make it temporarily RWD? Thats what i was hoping to do.
          Double track drift, yo.

Then you have all that useless weight up front awd system your not going to use. Swap in a Rb25 tranny and driftworks kit, hydro ebrake, bucket seats and a garage full of tires.

Honestly the best upgrade I got for my drift car this year were some good sparco seats. Kinda hard to have good control if your not secure in your seat.

Power can always come la8r, play around with tire/ wheel combos and shred tires all day long.

When I build another drift car I'd either choose a R32 gtr/S14/toyota Chaser.

Agreed 4 door yotas look good and have are a solid platform.

Back on topic Buddy should use his gtr tho. I'd prepare to replace/rebuild that early model 26 tho. Knock who's there?..... Rod knock.

                        I say drift the GTR!

suspension, diff, bucket seat and you should be set

                        Here's some motivation:

Wouldn't people do some weight reduction if they're drifting a GTR? It's a little on the heavy side.

You can drift anything if you put your foot into it.

for cheap.... remove the driveshaft to the front wheels. and get a hicas lock bar. Throw some GL-4 Trans fluid in the diff to make the clutches grab harder (as recomended to me by 'redline fuilds' engineers; re;MT-90)

grab some cheap rims and tires and take er to track and start practicing.

                            my 2cents

Your vehicle already has enough power. All you need is a HICAS lockbar, a stronger aftermarket clutch, and some extra rims. Start with cheap Kuhmos and work your way up to Falken Azenis RT-615 tires. It also wouldn't hurt to replace all fluids, replace the brake pads and get some aftermarket coilovers.
