I just want to add, clean R32's are worth a lot of money still in Japan! The Canadian market on R32 GTR's and their cheap prices are based on very, very low grade cars in Japan which are pretty worthless and ticking time bombs!
There is no shame in owning a mint R32 GTR and they are hugely respected still in Japan!

    My cars:
    1996 BCNR33 GT-R
    1992 FD3S RX-7 Type-S

All theories and opinions aside, I've seen R32s demolish R34s on circuits in Japan. And I've seen R34s demolish R32s.
It's not black and white as to which is best, ALL GT-Rs are great.

There's your answer! Keep the R32.

My R32 has become more or less a new car over the years and will be in my garage for the foreseeable future.

Thanks to all. I've pretty much had all of these points brought up in my own head. Good to see others think the same. However, I wonder how the feed back would change if we had some R34 owners on here.

Just because "idiots" can afford them doesnt mean you cant have one because the truth about the "idiots" who do get them is that they wont have them for long, or build them the way there meant to be built. Where as enthusiasts like us that take care of the cars, build them properly and love them, are looked at in a totally different category than those "idiots". Just cause you own an R34 doesn't make you a true enthusiast, If anything owning a fully built, clean, mint BNR32 would. But in saying that I do not mean I dont want an R34 because they are unbelievable machines! You really cant go wrong with either.

                    Well said, Sharkus.

As for bobbo's topic.. If your looking for opinions I really find that the R32 is a much better looking car, and that by no means makes the R34 an ugly car. I just really appreciate the styling in the R32, it is much more to the point - it looks like a race car and has that "true enthusiast" look it to. Very subtle yet very loud at the same time - timeless. The R34 has alot more fluff added to it to make it look sportier, again, not a bad thing but it doesn't ignite that fire in my head when see an R32... As for the interiors, the R34 certainly looks more comfertable and high tech where as the R32 incomparison is rather basic.

Again, this is all opinion. I also own a 350z which I bought because I like the styling and it has such a comfy interior - I sort of see the R34 similer to the 350Z vs 300zx in that way... The 300zx is a faster and much more promising car but when you drive the two of them the 350z is the winner everytime but its still missing that "feel" of the 300zx. Know what I mean?

EDIT: Should also note that I have not driven the R34 so take what I say with a grain of salt.

32 and 34's are not comparable in performance just in appearance. The r34 has new sleek and more modern lines that obviously the 32 doesn't. Other than that I would say they are about the same. Is the desire there for a r34 Gtr ummm most definitely but the question is Bobbo is it worth 40k+ for one? For me if I am able to get the cake together which right now it looks promising then I would say go for it.
Miss driving sooooo bad! Need to get a car on the road ASAP!

The R34 is better looking, handles better, quicker around the track if both in stock form, able to use larger and wider wheels, better gearbox, the list goes on. R32s look more raw and weigh less but the R34 will always be the car I want I think about when I think skyline. The R32 is just to keep my mind busy while I wait for legal R34s to be imported.

I love Skyline GTRs, period. I built this site because I wanted to meet other GTR enthusiasts. I've owned the 32, I own a 33 and I will own the 34. What it means to you or others on the road has zero bearing on my choice of vehicle. I simply love these legendary machines.

So many better cars for $40g's than a r34 gtr. It's a r32/33 that gained some weight and electronics.

Like what? And it cant be built. We all know a car can be put together with a 40k budget and eat up the r34
