What's your point? Dude, for $40K you can buy a whole bunch of cars that can outperform it. They're still not a R34 for someone who loves the R34. With that logic you can go to any marque-specific website and start spouting off about how so and so car will eat theirs for less $$. How many of those members will see the folly of their ways and give up on their ride?

      Really? List please.
Are there better cars? Debatable. Are there easier cars to drive fast? FEW.
I certainly won't say I'm the best driver but these cars can make you look like a hero.

The true test is knowing when to back off and watch the chaos…
Live within your means and be happy to be an owner of one.
There will always be better and faster.

Evo 9 is one of em

Anyway, it'll be good if the R34s are expensive. Less people buying them that can't afford them, more people that will be able to upkeep them with good parts cause they have the budget, methinks.

Evos are excellent cars. Regretfully I have little experience with them. There is a guy who brings a crazy one to the track from time to time but it brakes a lot. Great looking too but have too many doors and seem small. Also for the track I think I'd prefer the ATTESSA system.

Just checking on my word interpretation above... I guess either would make him slow.

The Evo X torque vectoring system is just insane. A guy who runs one out here tosses the car into corners at speeds (and with lines) that would put most cars in the gravel trap, but the Evo gets busy and figures out how to save itself and powers out of the corner.

Although the GTR and Evo sound similar on paper they are completely different cars with different missions. GTRs have always been designed as a GT vs. a short wheelbase, more high strung car like the Evo. I have huge respect for Evos, in fact I'm considering picking up an X sometime in the future. Cool cars all.

Yeah id love to know a car you can buy for 40 grand that would beat an R34. Theres cars you can buy for 100 grand that still cant beat it.

Indeed true with the Mitsu torque vectoring is brilliant but I think cars like the R35 and Evo X one would be getting a little too close to just driving a video game. At least with an R32 or somewhat with an R34 you know if you made a mistake.
I don't think that technology is going to make a crap driver better it'll just keep him alive longer. Would a skilled driver really need all of the drivers aids?

Well then, as it happens I have a buyers guide in front of me for the new cars (includes warranty, not 20 year old "sorry to
Hear about that" break downs lol:

                      New Taurus SHO (lol)
                      Used corvette z06
                      370z (I think?)

                      Mustang GT or 302 boss.
Some of the newer top end camaros are a pinch over 40k and put much more power down
                      392 challenger
                      Srt-8 charger
                      Evo X MR
                      VW Golf-R (GTI)

most of these are close to $40k and slightly slower or faster than an R34 due to newer technology, stiffer ride, not 20 years old and tired. In case I might be off on some of these. The SHO is the crazy one, it's stupid. 4 door 0-60 in 5secs lol

doesnt an r34 gtr do 0-60 in less than 5 seconds? my stock r32 does so you would think it would... anyway i am having this same argument in my head lately and i dont know if i can decide... i want both but i think i would rather get rid of my car ( its not a v-spec or anything that will be worth alot in the years to come) and start a build on an r34 not for any one reason but cause for one my car has not been touched yet so i have all of the cars weaknesses to fix (crank collar, ceramic turbine wheels, my syncros are getting worn out (must have been driven hard despite running like a brand new car every wher else) (or by someone not too good with the stick) :P and the r34 has all of this stuff dealt with already. i have heard that the drivetrain is not as strong in the 34 (weaker diff and trans) but im not going for crazy power (500 is my limit i think) so if i can get a good price for my car (16 would probably be enough) can you actually get that much for a clean gtr? mine has 88k and is bone stock with no exterior interior mods. but anyway thats my two cents you have put more money in your car so i would say if its feasable just keep the 32 and turn it into a track monster and keep the 34 for cruising and dont go crazy with it.

If you love the R34 or any other car, your choice will defy logic. Look at Jaguar owners...

Not sure who told you that the drivetrain of the r34 is weaker, but that's just wrong. The ONLY thing would be syncro in the getrag's third gear, sometime fifth (If you really shift it fast, in 500hp+ cars). But try to find a R34 that broke a gear under 800HP, at that power you would shred third gear in the stock R32 trans. The diff in the R34 aren't the 4.11 of the R32 but I wouldn't really call them weaker.

Personally, when I look at the R34 and I compare it to my R32, It make's me think about when I had my S13 and got an S14. the drivetrain is similar, but it just doesn't fell like the same car at all. The visibility is not at all the same, it doesn't even feel like they are similar size. Like you can tell I miss my S13 and I will have an other probably in the next couple of years, it just has something to it that make's me comfortable driving it, the visibility is great, the inside doesn't try to get in your face, and I feel the same about the R32, and something tells me I'll also feel the same about the R34.

R34 drivetrain is FAR better than the R32.

6spd indestructable getrag vs shitty R32 transmissions that break lots.
Active torque vectoring (can control individual rear wheel torque output)
                              1000hz AWD resolution
                              etc.

Are R32's awesome? Damn right they are. But R34's are too.
