Hi, I wanted to know if this would be way to hard?
I love skylines, and I have a 89 gtr, but I dont drive it in the winter. I live in winterpeg manitoba and Im looking for another car that can be my daily driver and that is left hand drive. Something with 4 doors, awd and good on fuel that I can drive year round. The reasons why I want left hand drive is because it would be more comfortble drive on the highways (as I do for my job 4 times a week) and to keep the vehicle inspection off my ass. It would be really cool to have a skyline for my daily and a gtr for the weekend summer months.
I hear that it would be a hard process with a rb26dett because of the twin turbo, but it was done before with a R32, R33, and R34 gtr.
What I have in mind was to buy a shell and work on the conversion, then put in a more fuel efficent engine in. I was thinking the neo rb25det? or the rb20det? (or would there be a better fuel efficent engine?) and since they are single turbo (im not sure about the space though) i was thinking that it would be alot easier to do.
Would this be too hard to do and would I just be wasting my money?
I am not a mechanic but I know most of the basics.
Me and my friends would be doing most of the work. I have a single car garage and a decent amount of tools
Here is a link with some pictures of the conversion done,
