I think the biggest advantage of using the stock fuel pump in the tank is it fits in the cradle perfect.

If you don't have the line I'd rock a -8 return line to the tank from the surge. It's basically nothing to order the fittings 1 size bigger and you are already using -8 line for the main feed anyhow.

Also now is the time to decide if you are going to run check valves or not.

Remember to put a inline fuel filter from your main fuel tank to the surge tank as well....

Looks like you already know what you want, just giving you some more options
Thanks Marcus I just ordered from integrated engineering today! Single Bosch 044 75% submerged in tank. Decent prices. I opted for this setup as I think I'm going to mount under the car to avoid any fuel smell. -8 feed to rail and -6 returns/tank feed.

I'd like to go with a -8 return to the main tank but the surge tank only has three -6 fitting boss's. I could get a -6 to -8 fitting but I imagine there's no point as its already restricted through the fitting?

      Cheers!

No point splitting IMO, if you want dual entry, you should do dual feed (but that's for crazy power lvls).

Not true, you will only see a small restriction with the -6 fitting but a much larger restriction with the -6 line. You can quite easily open up the fitting on the surge tank to use a -8 fitting, or reem out the -6 fitting to minimize the restriction.

I like the cut of your jib Mr. I'll install a larger fitting and run -8!

I run their dual submerged 044 surge tank with the same 3 outlets. I used a -6 to -8 fitting to the -8 line. The inner hole is -8 size in the fitting.

I used the integ eng -6 ORB fittings for the other 2.

Also the lube they use when installing the pump doesnt seem like a lot but mine has 0 leaks with it. you get worried about the stamped lettering in the pump going over the seal and it doesn't seem all that tight but once you clamp it down its all wonderful. I also recommend thread locking the pump cover plate on.
