  • New to the GTR

Hey guys, hopefully tomorrow the deal for my R33 will be finalized. Just a few questions about the cars. what are the typical problems with the R33 ie general maintenance and the common replacement parts?

here is a photo of my soon to be car.

    Thanks guys

    Hi There

common replacement parts are engine , tranny , wheels , winshield , girlfriends ......

Just joking , if you take care of it , and it has been well looked after common parts are oils , plugs , filters. Once you mod it the list can become extensive ..

I have a 95 R33 GTR MNP and it has given me 20,000 klm of trouble free driving over the last 2 years .

only trouble i have is staying within the speed limits

Welcome to the site and welcome to money pit ownership.
Your concern is valid and a frequently asked one. I'd suggest using the search function as you'll be able to find answers to any questions and learn a lot.
      Good luck tomorrow!

They are a car you will love to hate and hate to love. Once you get some seat time you'll be hooked, lol. Impressive to say the least.

Upon picking up the car I would recommend doing a complete fluid swap, check the plugs, check the coils, check the belt condition (esp. timing belt). For starters that should get you going. Be prepared to spend some $$$ if things are broken, as almost everything GTR is expensive.

also, resist the temptation to start fixing things that aren't broken, its a slippery slope.

              trust me!

Thanks for the response guys. I'm away with work but will be picking the car up the 12th. I have spent some time searching for the replacement oils, plugs and belts if they need replacing. Also managed to find a English PDF of the repair manual.

+1 for Carson Exports in Burnside!

Picked up my R33 GTR from them 7 weeks ago and had great dealings with them!! That MNP GTR looks even better up close, very clean OEM GTR. Good luck and have fun bud!

looks beautiful. Love purple R33's. Treat the car like your mother. and if you treat your mother like **** than you shouldnt own a GTR.
