If have $$$, Tomei arms are good (probably need cams, ECU tune injector, fuelpump, Z32 AFM's, etc to match). N1 turbo's are another upgrade (work with stock cams). Stock R34 GTR turbo's are an upgrade over stock R32 GTR turbo's.
Nismo use stock R34 GTR Turbo's on S-tune engines -

HKS 2510's are designed for stock cams and the rest. And they bolt on and attach to factory everything.
Keep in mind when upgrading turbos you're going to still have to do ECU (or at least an S-AFC or something) and if anything else isn't in perfect condition you might want to look into fixing it too, especially clutch/transmission, etc.
You'll probably need bigger injectors too, the stock ones are good for about 400HP and that's it. And you can make that on stock turbos (if not for very long).Last edited by Terrh; 09-30-2012, 05:04 PM.1992 GTR - 2.7L, GT2871R's, forged bottom end, big valves, 270* cams, R34 getrag

You can convert to Hybrid turbo's (similar specs to N1 turbo's, but using smaller A/R stock turbo housings) -
They use a CHRA (centre part of turbo), bigger compressor, exhaust wheels from another turbo. They machine the stock compressor, exhaust housings to suit the sbigger compresor, exhaust wheels. But make sure wastegate hole on back of turbo is bored out to suit and has bigger wastegate flap, A/R of exhaust housing matches exhaust wheel (boost can spike if don't solve this problem). Also they tend to shift powerband up by 500-1000rpm or so at peak boost, peak power (depends on if have bellmouth dumppipes, boost controller, stronger HKS or Garrett adjustable internal wastegate actuators, etc that can reduces this).Last edited by Skym; 09-30-2012, 08:17 PM.RESPONSE MONSTER

Well, not that I like to make a Frank out of me, but if you want mild while still looking at the same response/quick spool-up as the stock turbos, you have 2 choices, the N1 turbos or the GT-SS ( which are the new version of the 2510) bolt-on.
I have a pair for sale at the moment. I also have the 700cc injector and the denso fuel pump. With that, your good for 425whp ish!Need detailing done to your car? I'm open to travel to detail your car :

Depending on your budget, and how set you are in about if you want to swap or rebuild, all i can say is i had my rb25 rebuilt by cherry turbos (mentioned above) and you can have all the options available to you.
For 600$ had mine fitted with a steel wheel, stronger garrett centre housing and gt3071 wheel fitted in the factory compressor housing (obviously machined to fit).
I would recommend at least giving him a call and just let him know what your using the car for, what your looking (response/big power) and he will pretty much come up with a combination for you. He's a great guy to deal with.
Good luckNote: Turbos make torque and torque makes fun
