  • Sourcin' Rockcrete headlights? (R32)

I did a search about the infamous DOT approval process and thought it would be convenient if I could just buy a set of DOT approved headlights for an R. I hear there's a guy that calls himself Rockcrete that makes actual DOT approved headlights, but I haven't been able to dig anything recent up.

I was wondering if any of you guys knew if this guy is still around and making them?

    Thanks,
    Meat

No one knows? It would be really nice if I could get a hold of these, especially with the VIU running around.

you can use the accord light and actually a buddy of mine put a set of s14 zenki lights into his gts4 since he wanted a permanent solution. looked pretty good for swapping lights.

Oh man.. thats a name i havent heard in awhile..

Rockcrete hasnt been active in ths scene for years now.. at least 4 years now.
good to know his legacy still lives on..

anyways.. i doubt you will find any of his conversions..

HOnda lights are simple to install.

Thanks guys, I was just hoping I wouldn't have to do the accord swap. Maybe I'll look into stamping my own set of headlights :P

I did some research when this conversion was first posted and it is not cheap. The two hella projector lights will set you back $140 cheapest from US plus shipping and the two Camaro hightbeam will cost around $30 local, so just the parts alone will set you back around $200. Let say you get a pair of used oem lights for $100 and 10 hours of labour at $10 then you'll be looking at $400 for the lights.

Unfortunately this doesn't help anyone now but, I talked to no less than 4 manufacturers of aftermarket headlights at SEMA. I think I hammered them enough that a fully DOT drop in plastic projector headlight should be avail. for 2014. Most of them stated a target of 2500 to 3500 units are needed to justify the R&D. It took a little while but I think I put a serious bug in all their ears about the legalization of the R32 in the US for 2014 and the are currently NO DOT headlights avail.

With at least 2000 cars in Canada and the US most likely to gobble up MOST of what's left of the R32s in Japan, I think its a done deal.

Wow, it would be so awesome to see those manufacturers create DOT approved headlights! Hopefully they are really considering it now that very soon R32s are going to get the green light for importation in the US. I just hope they don't leave the R33s out of the equation when they do decide to make those headlights lol.
