  • Ebay gaskets

Does anybody have much experience with buying gaskets off ebay? I've seen gaskets that are advertised OEM performance if not better. Should i trust these or should i just get a genuine set for my car?

    These are the links:

    Thanks in advance

    Cheers!

On an RB26 I would use a branded stainless headgasket , stainless intake and ITB gaskets as they are a real pain if you have failiure.

The paper intake gaskets are prone to breaking and leaking .

I would not buy gaskets from ebay .

Don't buy crap gaskets off eBay. The amount of time and money wasted on labour to remove and reinstall will be far more expensive than buying proper gaskets to begin with. We sell Tomei metal gasket kits, along with other major brands such as Apexi, Cosworth, HKS etc.
PM me if there is anything I can do to help.

aside from the sales pitch. as long as you dont use the head gasket or the intake/exhaust gaskets every other gasket should be perfectly fine. I dont see how they could differ too much as oem is paper as well

i bought a complete rb26 oem nissan gasket kit off ebay good price but got tomie head, intake and exhaust kit. also i found it handy to have a bunch of spares gaskets for other things. So much cheaper then having to buy individual gaskets when u need them. To many haters for ebay. ebay has never done me wrong over 100 purchases and a bunch for my GTR.

Ebays not as bad as some people make it sound. Ive bought oem gasket kits aswell and never had an issue. Ive also bought garbage gaskets from ebay, and as daryll said, i had to do the job twice because of it. Just buy from a seller with good feedback and make sure you buy name brand stuff. Stay away from the chinese "race shops".

Only gaskets I need to change are the intake and exaust gaskets cuz I just removed the turbos. So the oem Nissan ones aren't good enough? My car is pretty much factory and I've been thinking bout powder coating the rocker covers but I'm not sure yet. Car need a buunch of body work and I just want everything to be running well mechanically before summer time that way I can do pure body work. Thanks for all the help! You guys are awesome as usual .

used ebay gaskets a bunch of times, and have never had one fail. I rebuilt a whole motor with ebay gaskets (minus head gasket and exhaust)

OEM is a better choice.. but if you dont want a gajillion hp and just need to fix stuff. go for it.

K I will stay away from the yonaka gaskets. Is it ok if I use the oem intake/turbo/ exaust gaskets if I'm only running factory turbos or are the tomei ones the way to go? If I was planning on building up the power this winter then OEM would definitely be out if the question but the car is jus factory.

If you are only doing intake and exhaust gaskets with OEM turbos, then either Genuine Nissan or Tomei will be fine.

There are a few Nissan dealership in the US that sells oem Skyline parts on Ebay. Their listings comes and go so you have to check Ebay often. Their prices are pretty good even with shipping and I know one that I dealt with often even knows about Canadian custom declaration.
