Geez louise GTR Dad, you're trying to stop tides or something? I mean getting to that size of brakes don't tires become the limit?

I've always been picturing my dream setup with brakes stuffed in 17s, and that's because 17's seem to me like a great size balance and platform for fat slicks.

EDIT: Well you might have changed my mind, GT class FIA cars had 360mm limits for decades (now 380) guess stuffed 18 is my new dream goal, thanks! :P (PS: tires are limited to 14" width...)

      R33 GTR front brembo calipers
      DBA 4000 rotors
      custom brake cooling ducts

      STI Brembo rear calipers
Garage Saurus big brake conversion kit
      Garage Saurus 330mm rotors

Hawk HP+ brake pads all around
TurboQuip SS braided brake lines all around
      Motul RBF660 brake fluid
      Cusco brake master cylinder stopper

well enough to get to the limit of my 265 Dunlop Z1 and snap the neck of passengers on the track
still not enough stopping power though, so i'll be upgrading both brakes and tires this spring

at the end of the season, i split a rotor in half, had to swap back my stock ones for the last track sessions... hilarity ensued..

Where did you mount that brake duct? And did it actually make a difference?

          scroll down a bit,

it was designed to screw onto the SPL tension rods, so i had to get creative
i put it on because anyway i tried i couldn't get a tube brake duct to fit under full lock
and since putting them on the car i could get about 2 more laps before brakes would start to fade (with oem rotors)- with DBA rotors they really fade within 20 laps
you should see the amount of brake dust that gets blown on the surface on the wheel, omg

            Nice setups here.

Mine is mostly street/pleasure driven so here's my deal:

Rebuilt OEM calipers front and rear.
DBA 4000 rotors OEM R32 GTR size
Hawk Ceramic Pads all around (wasn't sure on these, but we'll see...)
SS lines on the way, be installed by spring

Anything else I should throw at it? Also, what type of fluid would you guys recommend for this setup.
Car will likely only see 2-3 track days this season. Work runs my life.....
It would be lapping....my car is no drag machine and I despise drifting. LOL

I just want to stop a GTR. Again, and again, and again! The stock brakes are actually tire limited the first lap or two, but they heat up rotors crack. I went with 18's mostly because I love the OEM look of the R34 wheels on the R32, and went with the AP kit that'd best fit inside.

17's are a nice balance of performance, appearance, and tire price. Going to 18's to swallow 265mm rotors is another example of how you can get sucked into the illogical spiral of modifying. There's a lot to be said for setting a budget and choosing how to spend it to best satisfy your objectives.

                    OE calipers
                    Endless Slotted Rotors
                    Endless Brake lines
                    Cusco Master Cylinder Stopper
Hawk Blue Race pads Front and HP+ rear.
Edelbrock Large Capacity Vacuum Reservoir mounted where battery used to be.
Custom Air Guides attached to tension rods

I would never use Hawk Blue again. They did a great job stopping but they destroyed my rotors in short order. I will use PF 01 next time. HP+ all the way around will over heat after a few hard laps. First Time Attack event at Mission and they were smoking. I will use DBA slotted next time. They are way more cost effective than Endless.
