  • GTR drive shaft (GTS too..I think)

    ^^ I ment GTS4^^

I found this on Flea-Bay today....

Here is the part on the builders website......yes the Ebay ad was cheaper.

Here is a nice cheap upgrade to the halfshafts too...I have never seen a pic of the CV blowing up, it's always the shaft that sheers...

For when this auction is over I'll say a bit about it. A bolt-in aluminum driveshaft for the R32 with a 3.5" tube and up-graded CV joints. I'd say less than half the weight of the stocker and able to withstand longer durations of high speed with the much larger tube, even though the carrier brg is no longer there. Rated at 1200hp and built by the gearheads at the DriveShaft Shop.......all for the paultry price of $765 shipped in the lower 48 States.

The more that R32s start to become mainstream down south, the cheaper parts are going to become........gravy.

I'M GOING for one custom made locally, they charge 500$. I rather pay cheaper and be insured it will be balanced. I heard some story about driveshaftshop where the owner had to re-balance it to stop the vibration.

That's probably more to do with the shipper dropping it on the ground than the part being defective from the shop. That's the chance you take with shipping a precision balanced piece. I have had at least 6 custom drive shafts made over the years and they have all had an issue of some type. Again, such is the chance you take with a precision part (that can explode....lol).

DSS uses a million dollar (slightly exaggerated) balancer which I'm sure is better than most local shops. These guys are world reknown and have been around some time. I for one will always buy the parts from high End companies that specialise (unless it's an unimportant part like a bolt lol) because I know they are quality products tat have undergone R&D and q/c (most times...) and should something go wrong they back their products up.

Ive had so many issues using local cheaper jobs it's cost me HUGE to get the products right.

This is my opinion of course. Some guys get awesome local custom stuff so maybe it's just me. I guess it comes down to the kind of shop you use.
