    However, i think before attempting another run down the track with this transmission, i'll take the time and setup flat shifting in the ecu, this way there should be alot less shock put onto the drive train as the engine will immediately bump down to the next appropriate rpm range for the next gear.

        Here's the Nismo info on SR20DET gearbox and note the torque rating (design limit) of stock gearbox 3rd, 4th gear is not very high -



        Also the chart on left side of left page showing the lifespan differences of 3rd gear and I think 4th gear as well.
