  • How's this part called

    Hi everyone,

I plan to upgrade all suspension parts on my GT-R this year, but there's a part i dont know the name (i thought front lower contol arm?) so if you guys can help me with this it would be great.
Here is a picture of it:

By the way, if you have some recommendation on known good suspension parts for GT-R (Cusco, whiteline, nismo, etc.), i would like to know them.

P.S: English is not my main language so thank you for your understanding.

    Thank you all,

    Vince

@h4x6 I think this too, but when it comes to find some aftermarket of those arms, i dont find anything but oem ones. Only upper control arms and tension rods..

@Sri-LanKING it seems that the link you just posted is blocked in my country (???), but i'll look for lower camber arm. Thank you tho

RHDJapan offers the best quality performance parts made in Japan including Nismo, Mugen, Defi, Spoon, Cusco, Tomei, HKS and other JDM brands.

not a super common upgraded item, but not a bad idea if you want to keep the suspension geometry proper on a lowered car. Most people just upgrade the upper control arm for camber adjustment.

The drift works does not suit any of the 4wd models.

That is correct. Forgot we were talking GTR here. Not very many options for GTR front lower control arms.

there isn't many reasons to change the front lower control arm on GTRs, since an aftermarket one wouldn't upgrade anything
because on GTRs the FLCA doesn't have bushings nor does it impact roll center (spacer are used instead), its not even usefull for camber since the UCA does that

at this point, i've upgraded every single suspension component on my car except for that one, since they are very pricy to change for minimal benefit

That is usefull point of view. So i think the better option is to change the 2 ball joints and get a aftermarket tension rod to bolt on it.

                          Thank you all.

P.S: frankiman your build thread is awesome i look at it every week, i live in Québec too so i hope i'll see this beast one day.

From what I understand, front lower control arm can be affected when car is lowered past a certain ride height. Basically the suspension arms are in a V shape when should be flat.

The aftermarket suspension arms have what some call roll centre adjusters (I guess could call them spacers) on the wheel end of arms that makes the arms sit flat instead of a V shape when car is very low. It is said the arms being in a V shape affect's grip when cornering.

On rear of car I noticed they move the subframe up into chassis (modify rails) to solve this problem. Common mod done on Muscle cars, trackcars like HKS Cyber EVO, etc.

That's good to know, thank you for the info. Unfortunately i can't get my ride low enough so i guess i dont need aftermarket FLCA.
