  • Purchasing a skyline, some things to consider! Take a look for me !

Hey gents, I am considering purchasing my first skyline. it is a bnr32 GTR. I noticed some issues, first off, look at these rotors. They ldon't look the best, the pads are great and no pedal pulse but wavy rotors. Also, I noticed only 2 hard lines clipped against the firewall, it looks as though one is for the clutch and the other is for the left front caliper, i see other bnr's with A LOT more lines. Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm thinking this is because of an ABS delete? Check the little leak around the tranny as well, not sure what that could be as I couldn't get far enough under the car,
    thanks !

ABS has been deleted. Rotors appear worn based on the pattern. Wear pattern is consistant with drilled rotors.
One of the lines that would've been on the firewall would've been from the charcoal cannister. They are often deleted.
The moisture under the car could be from anything.
    The car appears neglected.
Where is it located? I'd be happy to have a look at it for you but I'm not getting the warm and fuzzies.

I'm really not getting them either, it's located just passed digby. It has 160k on it. Seems to run alright, has ball bearing turbos, mines ecu, tein coil overs, turbo timer and trisco gauge. I don't mind fixing up a little but I don't want a complete turd. It has a crease in the trunk as well where it appears to have been rear ended before. I'm thinking 7k is a reasonable offer. Aside from those issues it seems alright.

Besides the obvious, what else makes you think it's been neglected?

7k would be a very fair price. if you want something that "doesnt look neglected" (it is a 20 year old car) be ready to fork out 3-5 more k. if you could get it for 7 and dump 3k into it that you would normally pay for a clean gtr you will be much happier with it than buying another one and having no money to fit her to your tastes

This might be worth looking at. Price is steep but surely negotiable. It's located in Dartmouth.
