Been looking at 1990-92 skyline gts-t and Gtr's. Blue smoke isues?

I've been looking at some skylines recently. I've seen 3 of them with blue smoke coming out when the engine is revved, 2 were gts-t's and one Gtr. Is this common, cause I've seen tons of skylines on the road smoking blue, but running smooth.

I am wondering why these cars would be smoking blue? I've heard its the turbo seals or valves..

If something crucial needs to be fixed, how much would it roughly cost to get it done?

Usually blow by but could be piston rings or turbo oil seals.

80% of the time it would be turbo seals. Especially if they are still running stock turbos. Those things done live forever.

better off to get a new turbo, and while your at it, upgrade... also all depends on the car you get... rb20/25 you can get a NEO turbo... GTR you can go N1 ... lots of resources out there on this stuff

It costs $2000 to buy a new set of n1 turbos. How much would it cost to replace the seals by yourself? versus getting it done by someone else?

cheap as hell, turbo rebuild kits can be had for less than 100 a piece, though you will have to mark your assembly as you take it apart since it is balanced.
