    Another thing to consider as well, is the tuning. Number one cause of Rotary Engine Failure is Poor Tuning after mods are performed. Number 2 is Poor filtration. Number 3, Poor Service history. But the engines are crap, right?

    In 10 years, I only ever had one total rotary engine failure due to the oil pump drive chain failing.

      One of the biggest booboos that engine builders do here is not pull the plugs out of the crank and clean the cap out of all of the passages. EVERYTHING must be clean, that cannot be stressed enough.

      A basic rule of thumb with engine builders here on clearances is .001" of brging room per inch of OD of the journal. If it's a 2" journal then it's .002". But with high HP (translation heat) engines you need to add another 15% to that figure to help remove excessive heat from the brg surfaces. I usually try and hit .0001" over the largest figure in the tolerances.
