  • How much does factory N1 rb26 engine cost?

    Hi fellows,

    Few questions.

How much does a factory N1 long block engine cost?
Where can I get one in canada? Local nissan dealership?
What is it included? I think it should include assembled bottom end, head, oil pump, front diff, water pump, timing belt and no intake nor turbos nor exhaust.
Since it's factory how high can I rev it?

      http://www.nengun.com/nismo/rb26dett-n1-block. Block.
N1 pump is like 200 on ebay, think I got quoted 240 from Daryl
May as well go forged if your just getting a block
Then again I'm new at this so my advice is probably terrible.
I don't think nissan here makes rb26 and no idea about if they are still made in Japan

You can order anything through Nissan I would think. As long as you have genuine Nissan part numbers.

I've seen some for as low as $3-5k in Japan. My friend imports and exports them in Japan.

All the ones I've seen on ebay and elsewhere are just n1 blocks. For a Nissan built long block you can still get the Nismo edition but its big money:

Although cheap compared to a Tomei long block

Around 10K for a R34 NUR N1 crate engine last time I looked. Can buy a R34 NUR N1 crate engine through Nissan.

R34 Nur N1 crate engine should have -

                  Smaller oil restrictors???
N1 pistons (redesigned ringland design and I think different part number on piston crown).
Best 6x stock I beam conrods (crack tested, etc)
N1 block with bigger oil, coolant galleries
                  N1 head
                  N1 cams (different cam timing)
                  N1 turbo's (good to around 455hp at 1bar at engine with R34 GTR N1 turbo's).
                  N1 oil pump
                  N1 water pump
                  ,etc

R34 Nur N1 crate engines are good for around 500hp at 6000rpm in 24 hour racetrim (said to be good to 640hp on dyno, but not pushed that far on racetrack). Around 500hp at 6000rpm is the reliable hp level for endurance racing.

Some have pushed to around 700hp on dyno with a stock bottomend Nur N1 engine in a R34 GTR and HKS 25/30 turbo's, Mines cams, upgraded fuel system, metal headgasket, etc. I think was around 7500rpm for peak hp.

So I just dropped by at my local nissan dealership and guess what?

                          RB26 block N1 11000-24U00 $2552.29
                          RB26 N1 nur crate engine 10102-AB0R1 $18223.19

I did not mis-type any of it.

Looks about right. Wen I compared my n1 or an early 89 block, there was differences in the passages and what not. Guess that's why it was so much.
Why not find a stock engine and slap it in?
Modifying is a never ending game.y first engine (excluding support mods around it) was $14k. My second one was over $22k. Things are just expensive with imports. Buy a stang, trade the traction and cool factor for a reliable engine with big power haha

Heck you could get a gt500 with 662hp and warranty for less than a 20 year old unreliable high powered gtr without warranty

Wow price went up on the N1 blocks. I got a quote last summer for roughly $1800 CAD delivered to my work.
