  • twin turbo pipe kit set up help.

    Hey guys

So on my R32 GTR, i have all the stock intercooler set up and would like to upgrade to a better IC as well as hard pipes on both hot and cold side and still be able to use the OEM re-cir valve. IC cores im not too worried about there are plenty to choose from, but as far as IC pipe goes...done some research..some are very expensive, some are in the ok price but mostly they offer pipes on the hot side

right now my car has bolt on include: gt2860-5s and all supporting mods, already been tuned and made 500whp
also my set up has stock dump pipes, stock cams, going to be upgrading to tomei dumps and tomei type-b cams before the re-tune. for more mid range power.

so i want something better than stock. what do you guys run? pic, price, and fitment issues?

i see some pipes indeed are very pretty and nice (like greddy pipe kit) which runs about a grand...a bit too much for me for metal pipes.

what do you guys recommend for cheap bolt ons that work, price is a factor...unless i have no choice i'll spend the money lol.

^ looks like a nismo kit from the couplers...something similar to this, i also still using the oem intake manifold and no plans to change it anytime soon

    thx in advance

Not much help, but from what I've seen the Godspeed kits you see for a few hundred dollars are junk. Big pores in the metal, poor welds, uneven mating surfaces, etc. I haven't found any alternatives to the GReddy setup that are any cheaper than about a grand. I'll probably end up getting the GReddy kit myself.

Never heard of a cheap pipe set bursting or falling apart, only downside ive heard of is fitment. If you take the time to get it to work, in my opinion its worth saving the big bucks. Piping is piping after all.

im looking at the godspeed one now, price is fair, i might pick it up, still deciding.

found a write up on it...quality reflects the price so you can't complaint.

but what about below where the the rubber pipes connect to both sides of the intercooler, who makes hard pipes for that?

        thx

^ i believe the godspeed and greddy kits have the entrance and exit pipes for the intercooler as well

What caliber posted is my understanding. I thought those kits included the IC piping.
