  • Apexi D-Jetro question

Looking for someone who has a PFC D-jetro in their GTR. I need to know what pinouts to wire my Map sensor harness into. It says cylinder 3 and 4, but ive heard of people tapping them into the old airflow meter wiring.

    Thanks

Or better yet get a ecu that isnt 20 year old technology. For how much money we spend on our motors and builds in general the ecu is not the place to cheap out. I started off with a djetro and it wasnt meeting my needs. I switched to a vipec and would never think about running a pfc again. The only reason and i mean only reason to run a pfc is for basic bolt ons or small upgrades and want to make minor adjustments to your map without spending the big bucks for a tune. Just my 2 cents but i wish someone gave me this advice before i spent all the money tuning and trying to get my pfc to meet my wants and needs.

To answer your question this should help

Like the topic says, need an english translation of the install instructions for this puppy. We already have the regular pfc install sheet in english but it doesn't explain the finer points of MAP sensor install etc. Thanks in advance, Adrian

Your free to have your own opinions of the PFC, but to say they are only for minor adjustments is far from true. Our engines are 20 years old, the power FC has been used and still is used on many over 1000 hp drag cars. Yes there is newer and more advanced ecu's but for the price of the power FC and its ease of tuning, along with the fact it does everything i need it to do it cant be beat. At least for me.

        Thanks for the link

Edit: already looked through that link, and no information about hooking up the 2 wires off the map sensors. Still looking for some help.

Hey mang, I finally got some time to look at mine. Keeping in mind I have 2 sensors.

There are 3 wires coming out of each; red, black and green. Red and black is obvious and green is the signal. There is a socket on the side of the Djetro next to the Commander socket, that's where they plug into with the, should have been supplied, plug. Now all the blacks and reds are tied together but the signals are tapped into the air flow quantity signal pins front and rear...#35 and #27. They tapped them instead of cutting them off...for future undoing maybe? For a single MAP I suppose you would tie the two together so there is a signal to both so a code isn't thrown.

Edit: crap, I just thought of something...one of the sensors are also tapped into the green wire going to the plug that goes into the side of the Jetro case...I believe it was the front sensor...I'll have to double check that.

          Jon.

Thanks Jon, I did some more research and it looks like #35 and 27 are the pinouts you need to use. I am using two map sensors as well, just like you but i have never heard about tapping the green wire that goes into the case? I have the harness that plugs in with two loose wires (blue and an orange/peach coloured one) that are supposed to tap into 35 and 27, not sure which wire goes to which and im not sure if it matters. Still doing research so any help is great.

              So here it is...

The first pic shows the MAP harness that should have come with the sensors. The front MAP is tied into both the green wire going into the side of the case and the pinout for the front MAF sensor (blue arrow). They also ran another wire inside the Jetro harness for the rear MAP and it is tied into the rear MAF wire only (red arrow). The orange square shows the spot where they tapped into the MAF wires.

I also found out that without a doubt the box that I thought was a coil amp box is actually a 2 step limiter...doesn't seem to work though...gonna figure that out.

Vipec was pretty good. But then the guy that started that company quit and started a newer better ecu called EmTron. I'm sure it'll will soon follow suit with less and less support/updates, like the Pfc years ago.
Pfc is fined for the cost but there are better. Opinion really. Best bet is to find a tuner and let him tell you wan he's comfortable with.

Fora PFC guru, look up the name Paul r33

I have 2 new in box map sensors for a PFC if anyone needs em. Never used as I upgraded my ecu before using...

I have never understood that cost argument. There have been at least 10 Djetros for sale in the last 3 years for well under $1000, I wouldnt bother with the Ljetro. Your next step up is at least double that if you buy new and only slightly less used. There are only a few things in a $2500 ecu that would be usefull on a GTR (and no, traction control is not one of them). While wideband O2 feedback is nice, it's not manditory...hell, I still tune with a narrow band (yes, it works just fine for WOT).

As far as a tuner goes, if you invest in the tuning suite from New Zeland (Datalogit), it's pretty simple...if a tuner cant figure it out in a timely fashion then go to another tuner...your moron alarm should be going off. Thats the parts about the PFC I like the most, the dead simplicity of them and the ease of use when you get the suite....not to mention limitless power with the Djetro. On first glance the data points look very cource but I drive my car alot in the summer and even into early winter when it gets very cold and the car starts, drives and parking lot cruises better than any other car I have ever had....and makes 300 odd HP more....and it's almost 25years old.

I paid 1000 for haltech platinum pro, have also seen a couple vipecs sell for around 1200, the o2 feedback is not nececary but it sure makes it easy, well worth the 200 extra bucks, but your right , it does have a lot of options I don't use... But could someday
