This post is a reference for me + things I need to do before our track day, next friday the 17th.

Last weekI brought the car to autoworx to get some little things done.

-Front diff, rear diff, trans + gearbox fluids
-Coolant flush, replaced with distilled watter plus redline water wetter
        -Bank1 and bank 2 o2 sensors changed
        -New coilpack loom

Things to do before next week

        Diagnose loose rear end component
Find loose fitting thats making a very annoying rattling noise
Replace 2 Studs on rear pass. side
        Oil change
        Wideband
        Coilovers, hopefully.
        Finish Tomei hicas lock (electrical)
        Clean air filters

        Before end of summer:

        Misc body work
        Relocate battery and washer bottle
Divided turbo pipe or hard piping
        Aluminum work nuts (blue)
AMS VSPEC slotted rotors up front and rear slotted rotors

Not what i hoped for, but what the hell.
I think the driving lights look excellent! I think they will look better with the inner housing painted black like you said though. I've had doing something like this in my head ever since I saw how they did the new GT-R lights in a similar way. Could you give me some more info on the process? Do you have a link to the exact lights you bought? The fit seems to be nearly perfect in my opinion, I think you did an excellent job!

Basically I want to steal your idea and do exactly what you did (sorry!) haha. So if you could post some more specific info on the mounting and the actual LED lights, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks!

The lights actually really grew on me. I haven't hat time to finish the install on one side, and wire them up properly but i'll get around to it. Once i finish up the mounting and wiring, and repaint the bumper it will look like it came from the factory with the lights there... kinda lol. I looked and couldn't find the exact ones on ebay anymore... but im sure there are several others. Just be sure to take measurements, but remember that some modding will be necessary. I'll post up a bunch of detailed pics of the process so you can see how the lights mount and how i modified the bumper to make them fit.

                on another note,

                UPDATE!

Finally got my hands on a part that was long overdue. After the ultraride last week, (which was epic), and with a track day at sanair coming up this friday, I realized that stock suspension wasn't going to perform to my needs anymore. On monday I ordered, and today it arrived.

So, by popular demand, here are my HSD HR Coilovers. I read a ton of great reviews about them online, and they actually manufacture the coilovers for driftworks, and apparently for many other high end suspension brands. For the price, they are unbeatable. Monotube design, 16 way dampening adjustable, pillowball upper mounts, full height adjustability... just epic. I'm going to throw them on tomorrow, will post pics of install and final result once i get it done.

                Rears:

                Fronts:

Also got my hands on an AEM UEGO wideband o2 sensor / digital guage. I want to keep an eye on my afr now that it's tuned, and because it's been blowing alot of black smoke lately under hard acceleration.... Going to check out the afr and see whats up.

Pics of new suspension setup to come tomorrow!

awesome, make sure you set your ride height to the exact same as it is now or you'll need to do an alignment for the coil over install man,
actually an alignment would probably be on the cards regardless tho lol

garbis laval, DON'T do it, just get it done by a Nissan dealer, same result much cheaper

its funny that all 4 of us are getting our cars ready for that track day
its funny because since its your first time, you guys seem to "need" this stuff for the track day (tires/coilovers/oil change)
only you decide how hard you will run your car
i've done plenty of track last year and never broke anything (exept for brakes)
when in reality you could go with a rusted out stock 89' civic hatch and still have fun

i just want to tell you guys 1 thing though, don't push it, don't try to overdo it, when the adrenaline starts to pump its hard to control yourself
and believe me there will be adrenaline pumping

Might as well do it right? They're still our daily drivers, i want to leave the track with the car in the same condition as it got there, so hopefuly all these precautions will allow that to happen; ie. bald tires..

Adrenaline will for sure be pumping, but ya, like you said, just chill and absorb the jist of it, rather than getting too far ahead of ourselves. Racing mx was like that, except smoking a guy in a corner was jokes, while a small dab here will end with insurance swaps lol.

                            Can't wait

haha, its not NEEDING, its wanting! i havent 'needed' alot of the things on my car lol.

oil change: im just due for one, thats all.
coilovers: trust me, there will be a huge difference between a nice coilover setup vs the semi blown oem shocks + tein springs i'm running now lol.
brakes: yeah... mine will probably not fare so well on friday.. im worried about the drilled rotors cracking.. :S

i didnt know a nissan dealer could do an alignment?!!! man, ill do that next time for sure, thanks frank.

i too have drilled rotors, recall from francois story that his started to chunk off from the heat excess and thats when it went bad, so Ty, you and i just have to keep in mind, when brake fade starts happening it might be time for a cool down lap, thats all. we should be ok.
