PROJECT: Homeless
June 15 2013, I had an appointment to meet a seller at his house to potentially acquire his 1989 Nissan Skyline GTS-4 Sedan. Cresting around the corner of his residential street there it was, sitting in the garage with the hood open. It was love at first sight, I had brought my gf along with me because she wanted to see this car that was going to take all my money and time away from her. As a car guy I rushed over to the car, I am not even sure if I parked. Leaving my gf still in the car I flew across the driveway and started looking at the car. I had known already that it I wanted it, I knocked on the door and took for a test drive (no plates: cool
around the block. Car was great, took my gf for a blast in it and she was happy (probably not), funds were exchanged and I was the proud owner of this

So upon picking the car up, slapping the plates on and driving for 20 min I noticed a miss fire and the 4wd is not working. I have not even made it home and it’s already having issue. So upon downloading service manual, reading and getting to work. I figure its coil pack, ignitor, or maf. So a guy had a part out and I bought all three plus a rb20dett ecu and Wiring specialist coilpack harness.
After about 30 min of working I swapping everything and while have a beer I start the car... she is popping and doesn’t want to stay running. SOOOO now back to drawing board after another 10min I figure I have the harness on the not in proper firing order, so fix that and boom runs like gold.
Now time to attack the 4wd system.. So with wiring diagram, I am testing everything, checking fuses and removing seats to check wiring. After a few days and I figure(Guess) it’s the Attessa ECU, so after no one at meets would help me out and swap out to see if it was the ecu. I hopped on the internet and found nengun.com and ordered an ecu for $37.98 to my door. I figured what I have to lose, 2 weeks later the ecu was at my door and I had my 4wd system back up and running.
So after a season of fun she is time to go to sleep

During the winter of 2014, I had decided that the car needs a RB26dett. I can’t have the GTR body and no RB26dett. After a few months of saving I had finally started to purchase parts.

I will be working on the engine this weekend and will take a few pictures of dissemble and progress.
I do plan to replace all hoses, gaskets, machine head, paint valve covers (Not sure yet of color or design)
For Tuning, I do plan to take it to Magnus Motorsports (http://magnusmotorsports.com/tuning/#.U06peFVdV8E) and not ask for high horsepower. I plan to ask for a car that runs and drive. I want it to be close to factory as possible, as in the sense of not having to pump gas to start or have the car only be able to start when cold.
I have had many bad experiences with tuners that just go out and tune the full throttle map and not touch cold starts or partial throttle maps.
Please tell me what you guys think or suggest.

YOU ARE NOT A TUNER if this is how you tune a car.
