.4 litres isn't making a 2000 RPM difference in spool. Maybe 750-1000 RPM's tops.
I am a big fan of RB30's though, and if you can't see the benefits of one then why don't you go back to an RB20? Yeah there's some cost associated with machining the sump to work with AWD, but RB30 shortblocks themselves are dirt cheap and you can build one of these on a sensible budget.
