      • I finally figured out the wiring for my HKS Kansai torque controller. I've had it kicking around for 2.5 years :-o It came with an R33 harness which had a slightly different harness than the R32, so I cut the wires to hard wire it in....the only problem was all the wires were yellow and I mixed one up.:hit newb:

Have you got any time in on the HTR's. I'm researching tires and would like to hear your thoughts..

            ehhhh hmmmm.....275/35/18 on 18"x9.5" +22 advans

I've had one auto x experience with them for the hell of it so far till I have new wheels in 1 month and dedicated track tires....With the fronts at about -.75 - -.1 camber, there was extreme roll over on the front tires to the point where the rim was about 1/2" from riding on the ground. I have since changed the front camber to -3 ... but since it is snowing here right now??????????, I have not had a chance to push the tires.
Keep in mind i bought these tires mainly for the street. The tires are great in the rain and for daily driving are good but for evasive actions I would recommend -3 for the front camber and -1 for the rear camber to prevent roll over.
Would I buy these for street tire again.....nope. My BFG KWD NT ($1000) had more grip than these tires....so if that helps at all....These tires cost me $675 installed. I guess in the end you get what you pay for

            • I rode with J during some of his autox runs. His tires howled like banshees with little provocation. No matter what tire pressure combo we tried they would not hook up. They are a street tire only. They do look good.

Camber will help, but if you are even thinking about the track, forget these tires.

Dunlop Direzza Z1 is the bang for the buck tire. I had huge improvements in my autox times and I don't think I have found their limits yet. They cost me $1100 to my door from the tire rack.

              • Thanks fellas! I think I'll avoid the HTR's, I hate soft sidewall tires..

I'm running Advan Neova's right now, and probably going to RT-615's if I get a good price. New Neova's are ~$350 at 1010tires and $275 at Tire rack...

                • Neova have better overall performance that the Z1's but for the price, Z1 all the way.

Greg(aka mcnab) Has the Z1's on his Prelude. He was running against a RSX typeS with RT-615's that were bigger than his Z1's and Greg was faster by .2seconds. The driver of the RSX was no slouch. The real difference why I would take the Z1 over the RT-615 is that the RT-615 is side specific and the Z1 is not, meaning you can flip it to the other side.

Sorry for Jacking your thread, J. Please resume.

My front camber is at -3 and the rear is about -.5 I currently have 275/35/18's on 18" x 9.5" +22 Advans. My car is lowered and the front is 5mm lower than the rear. If I lower the rear any more I will have to roll the inner rear fender lip. I can fit 2 fingers in the gap on the rear. The front tires hit a square plastic tab in the fender liner under very hard bumps. With the -3 camber in the front and 275 wide tires there is about 2mm of clearance between the tire and the upper suspension bracket the upper links connect to. My new SSR rims will come out 12mm further and stay the same on the inside. I think 18 x 10 + 18 would be the highest offset you want to go for the front.
