  • Clutch hydraulics issues.

As expected since the triple plate got installed, other stuff is failing.

There is a hissing coming from the clutch booster when the pedal is depressed but it didn't affect the clutch operation so I pushed it for a couple weeks. Now the hydraulics are done since the pedal is all the way to the floor.

I'm gonna go with an OE slave and a SS line. SS line same as Z32? Just wondering since I have acess to one of those.

Any expereince out there what should be beefed up?

Which triple did you go with? Z32 and BNR32 SS clutch line part numbers don't seem to be the same so I'd say no, but you never know.

      I've got the HKS triple
when I origionally put it in I was using the stock clutch fork and found engauging very touchy
Now I have a clutch fork which is extended (longer from the pivot out)
the engagement is Much more controlable.
Unfortunatly I don't know who makes this as it came with the other tranny I bought.
Maybe Daryl could shed some light on its make (poss a Tomei fork extension kit)
Also if you need a clutch booster pm me I have my old one that was good when I removed it.

OS Giken makes some sort of adjustable clutch fork but i do believe it is sold with the pull to push conversion kits.

I am running a r4c right now on a nismo pivot and everything else stock. No issues.
The clutch booster blew on me once way back when the car had a stock clutch.

I have an Exedy triple carbon.

The booster was hissing on pedal engagement a couple weeks back but I still had pressure. But then the pressure dropped to zero and the fluid is way down.

So I'm thinking slave + booster?

Might as well do the SS line as well.

I went with a twin plate and upgraded the following.

            Nismo Strengthened pedal bracket
            Nismo clutch pivot
            Nismo SS line
            Nismo Slave Cylinder
            Stagea RS Master Cylinder

I think there may be a upgraded clutch fork out there also. With a triple plate, you should upgrade everything.

As for your insane brakes, when you install the rear ones, You should check out a larger Brake master cylinder and stopper!

Ya I kinda knew better since my installed was like upgrade everything. I was like ya ya in a bit. Wow wasn't that almost a year ago! Time flies.

              Sooo...

The million dollar question is can I re-route the clutch booster and just skip it? Its like a $260 part and hear it isn't much of a difference on a heavy clutch anyway?!

I heard the fitting is the same to just bypass..

              Thoughts?

Right on, cause I'm pretty sure it blown and I have better things to spend $300 on.

                  I prefer the clutch heavy

I'm also having problems with the clutch system. I've been getting the same hissing when clutch pedal depressed noise for a while now, but I haven't noticed any negative affects until recently. There's just about an inch of play in the clutch pedal.

It happened when I put in the exedy twin carbon clutch, but I also upgraded to a new OEM master cylinder, Nismo SS clutch line and slave cylinder.

So it's the pedal booster that's making the hissing noise, and I can just plug the vacuum line and everything will be good? Any info on the exact location of the clutch booster? Pictures would be nice, thanks.

it's the black thing on the firewall that the clutch master cylinder bolts to

My clutch booster just started hissing when half engaged. Should I plug the vacuum line now? will that prevent any further damage? or am I just as well off leaving it be until it really craps out?

it wont cause any damage other then a vacuum leak. the boosters are sealed off under boost by a one way valve.
