Man Gtrs are stupid.....I need to take the front cover off to get to the timing belt, which means I have to remove the main pulley, and there's no way I can get the impact wrench in there....

So the engine will have to come out. I'll probably have to clean the surfaces and the gasket itself anyway so....everything is unhooked. I'm waiting for my helper to give me a hand, probably this weekend.

Is that a different name for magnetic particle testing?

just take your bumper/intercooler/rad out and you can get to the crank pulley bolt with an impact... its a hell of a lot easier than having to take the motor out

AC evaporator is in the way and I don't feel like purging the system. Like I said I'll take the head off just so I can see the gasket and clean the surfaces.

Why don't you use a breaker bar + a long pipe instead?
You just need to put the car into 5th gear and pull up the ebrake, then unbolt it.

Already tried that too. Believe or not I can make the rear wheels move even in 5th with the ebrake. Plus the front of the car is on jackstands and it's not super safe. Engine is out now anyway.
