im rebuilding my engine and i have a 90 gtr and i replaced the oil pump with the jun oil pump and im wondering if i need to buy a wider collar too, because of the small clearence, or does the upgraded pump solve that issue?
You don't need to get a collar, but it's like asking if you need to wear a condom to love an unclean woman. Not required, but if you're going to go to all the trouble you might as well finish the job

As an example, compare the stock 5mm oilpump drive on front of crank that fits into and turning the middle of oil pump vs the aftermarket collar with 15mm fitting into turning the middle of oil pump.
Look at post number 16 (photo) in this thread below to see the difference between stock oilpump drive and aftermarket crank collar and how far it fits into oilpump (flat looking part) -
You can also just buy a new Crankshaft from a R33 or R34. The thing is the crank collar is around 100-200$ plus the machining to get it on will be 50-100$, then balancing the crank is 150$+. And then you still have an old crank, not that its bad thing, but it may be worth it just to invest in a new crank. I've seen cranks for 650-1000$, PM me and I'll send you the cheapest place I've found.
Mcfly knows it all!! I'll be buying from Nismoparts, can't go wrong with a new crank for 577.85$. This way you know you have something that is new, balanced, and has the proper collar.

Careful on that. The best suppliers in Japan sell for almost 2x that which doesn't make sense, sometimes.
Did you know that even the parts that fail QaQc are still sold for profit? They're just bought by certain companies at bulk-mega deals, then are able to sell it real cheap, where they agree not go go back on the main company if a parts fails. Not saying they are one of them or anything. I say this cause the company I work for does this in certain ways. It's legal, in some sick way.

start by having A ROLLING GTR then we talk u ******* mofo funzy little *****
im actually not sure what crank is in there, it came built out of japan, so when i get back to town im checking my crank first anyways, and ill probably do a jun collar if its an early crank.
so i had the engine builder measure the collar and i also went out myself and measured, get this.......my collar has a 22mm drive on it, has anyone ever seen this before?
Yeah, seen that on cars with a fixed oil drive or a newer crank
It's possible that the engine was rebuilt or swapped in Japan. Lots of people in Canada are having these engines go pop, it's not like Canada is their kryptonite and they never blew up in Japan.
