Hi, I have a 91' r32 gtr. i recently blew up my motor.(oil pump drive) I am looking to rebuild it. i have a freind with a 05' Z06 corvette. what would it take to make my car faster than his?

I'd really suggest searching around, some of the GTR build threads should help you out.

In general there's a few things that will determine how fast/how much power you make - the first one being how much you are willing to spend... if we have a little more info it would help.

Also, I have no idea how fast an '05 Z06 is, but I'd imagine your standard gt2860-5 ~500whp build could take one out without an issue, then again - is his car stock as well?

The Z06 is a formidible car for sure. If I remember in '05 they made 505hp. From some of the build threads I've read on here you gonna be looking at about a $20G build all said and done depending on what you have to work with at this point.
Sounds like a lot of money but consider a GT-R plus 20G is only a 30G car and you'll be eating up 80G cars.

z06 in 2005 was 405hp. Vette's are always underrated though, so its probably more like 450hp. A 500whp (~580bhp) gtr will kill a z06 no problem!

i dont think it would take that much.. with some mild upgrades and being careful with boost and tuning...your gtr will haul ass. unless you want to go hardcore. in which case...t51r.


Plans for my GTR as a fast daily driver are:
N1 turbos (already have)
Bigger manifolds
Big dump pipes
stockish cat back (already have)
no cat (already have)
Intake piping kit
I/C piping kit
a little higher boost

My ECU that has no limiters.

reliable...yet pulls hard as hell. it already does but i want more!

350whp gtr can overtake a 2005 Z06 if the twins spool quickly.

Faster how? Corners? straight? uphill?
If you have a average condition gtr, just boost it up & you should be on even grounds, the rest is up to the driver.

what's done to the Vette? All you need is More Boost and a tune on a stock Motor and turbos you'll make 400AWHP. Shouldn't be an issue. I'm not guaranteeing how long your turbos will last, but you'll get through the year at 1 - 1.1 bar of boost. As long as your motor's fine.

That's ALLL you have done? Did the Vette blow his tires off at the line? I would have never guessed that a GTR would be able to beet a Z06 with so little done to it.

I can attest to this, a Stock Rb26 with CatBack Exhaust, Blitz Intakes, and Stock Turbos (Steel Wheeled R34), and a Tune running 1.1 bar of boost will shilack an '03 Z06 with Full Borla Exhaust (Header, Mid Pipe, and exhaust), LS1 Edit, 315 Rear Tire. K&N cf Intake.

not only the vettes most American stock V8's will struggle against a strong running GTR. rb26dett with AWD makes a formidable combination for sure. Force Induction on a V8 and GTR will be close.
