question about R33 BLOC

I recently purshase a R33 RB26DETT

AND my mecanic told me i have

SECOND GEN R33 BLOC????

he was talking about a better crank and oil pump

can someone explain me everything y this is SUPPOSE to be better ?

for the oil pump i heard it before that the r33 was better but neways

never heard of a second gen R33 block, and its not the oil pumps that were better on the motors, its the oil pump drive on the crank, all the stock oil pumps are essentially the same.

the wider oil pump drive on the crank snout has more contact area with the pump and therefore, is less likely to slip, like on the R32 blocks

What garage are you going to?

Theres no such thing as a r33 block. There is a r33 crank. There is no such thing as an r33 oil pump either.

i think what your mechanic meant was that you have a more recent version of the rb26dett with the wider oil pump drive.

Safer=yes
Better (as in safer)=yes
Block is the same. Even do the block is weaker then the early R32 Hi Nickel blocks lol.

So the R33 is weaker!
