  • Wideband, EGT, and downpipe Q's

Hey guys, I'm getting ready to install my Innovate LC-1 wideband and Apexi EL EGT (exhaust gas temp) gauge. My question is, where are you guys running you O2 sensors and EGT probes? I was thinking right before the cat for the O2 because I've heard you need to be around 18" away from the turbo, but I'm not sure on the EGT as I received no instructions. I haven't looked under my car yet, so I'm not sure if I'll have to remove my downpipe to install my bungs or if I can get away with doing it on the car. If I do have to take my DP out will I need new gaskets on the turbo side?

    Thanks for the help- Don

I did some more research and it looks like the egt probe is best in the #6 cylinder exhaust manifold runner. So I guess that's where I'll put it...

If you've only got one EGT probe, #6 is a fine place to put it as it is reputed to run leaner than the rest.

I currently run a two probe system and located the probes in middle of each exhaust manifold.

6 probe system will be installed next time the exhaust mani is off to enable individual cylinder fuel trim based on EGT.
