On N1 engine they crack test, shotpen, etc the stock conrods and choose the 6x best conrods, change conrod bolts. The result is they can handle 563awhp+ in a N1 engine with 98 pump gas (downunder). Normally they are rated to I think someone said around 550hp at engine with stock conrod bolts.

I remember there was a RB26 drag engine in USA producing around 960-1000hp with stock internals and running 7sec 1/4 mile in rwd chassis.

So the concensus is they are perfectly durable for any 500whp gtr out there ( which cover like 85% of the canadian user) but if you want a more responsive engine, then forged rods is a good idea.

another option there is out there that i came across when searching around about shot peening is the WPC metal surface treatment (link below). i havent found out what the cost is and i dont imagine it to be cheap but sounds like the best bet...its basically shot peening at a microscopic level and can be done to any surface (meaning pistons, rings, bearing etc)
its a good read and sounds like would be a huge advantage

That was on a Hub Dyno. Doubt they can handle that much rwhp with weight of car on road that puts stress on engine.

for how cheap the eagles are, I'd get them. They're WAY stronger than the stock rods, sure they aren't as strong as a set of $1500 carillo's but they're strong enough for 99.9% of GTR's out there. The eagles are good for what, 1000HP? As mentioned above they're lighter than the stock rods too, which is always a plus. less rotating weight = more power, better milage, easier on your bearings, and a higher RPM capable motor.

I have yet to run my motor yet to comment on response of the engine itself, but I have Manley rods and CP pistons. My machinest thought I handed him a set of Eagle rods, and his first comment was "uhh, I get these a lot and I will probably have to round the big ends since they are usually out of round". When I asked him if Manley rods were that crappy, he retracted his statement cause he thought they were Eagles lol. I got my Manley's for the same price as Eagle's since the guy was closing up his shop and getting rid of inventory. Long story short, after weighing it all up, he had to call me in shock at how much weight that he would need to pull off the crank. So he gave me the option to either drill holes out of the counterweights like swiss cheese or put a grinder to it and make it a pretty knife edged crank. I of course chose the knife edge option (at no charge!), and it came out looking great! By the before pictures I had of the engine tear down to when I got the crank back, it was a night and day difference on how much material had to be removed. I plan on revving to 9k minimum.
