  • Which fuses and relays are missing from your GTR?

I recently had a MiNE'S 320km/h cluster installed in my GTR and afterwards, I was getting a bunch of warning lights flashing. We compared it to my original cluster and found that the original was missing the bulbs for the 4WD, HICAS and ABS.

After looking under the hood it appears that my ABS had been removed by the previous owner. As for the HICAS and 4WD, I have no idea why they are missing. The mechanic took it for a drive test drive and when he got back he said that the 4WD is definetly working, but I don't know how he could tell.

Anyway, I've been having problems with the MiNE'S cluster to I removed it today and decided to take a look at my fuse/relay boxes inside the car and under the hood.

Inside the car, I am missing fuse #2 and #3 which according to the manual are "electronic parts" and "transmission control". I'm also missing #14, but that apears to be a spare.

Under the hood I am missing the 75A "main" fuse and the "A/T IND" relay as well as the "inhibit" relay. When I look at the empty spaces for those relays, I only see an empty hole. There doesn't appear to be a harness in there. Does that mean that they were never there to begin with or did someone just remove the relay AND harness?

When I install my original cluster, I am going to replace the 4WD and HICAS bulbs and see what happens. Even if they stay on, it will help me troubleshoot what is wrong.

What fuses/relays are you guys missing/have removed. It would help to know what effect these missing fuses and relays are having on my car, if any.

    Thanks!

that made me chuckle. He probably redline launched it and it didn't spin the bajesus out of the rear tires, that's how he could tell! (Actually, I recall telling you this "technique", albeit at less harsh RPM, to check yourself)

The missing dash #2 and #3 fuses is normal. Check the fusebox and you'll see the sockets are missing. The #2 and #3 are for auto trans, so the GTRs dont have the sockets.

As for the dino-age ABS, it's no big loss, keep the bulb out and enjoy a little skidding now and then. If the guy took out ABS, he probably did the same to HICAS, but the mechanic could of told you if the rear links are locked or the rack was removed.

As for the engine bay fuses...*scratches head* well I haven't opened the box yet, cause most plastic and rubber components of the 'bay brake in my hands, they were so god**** dried up. Started fighting with it (yeah I know, it's the same with the electrical connectors too, just can't get em off) and since it was just for curiosity I let it go. I could try again some other time I'll be under the hood fighting and swearing over the connectors. I swear I have the same problem with the Sentra.

Usually the easiest way to notice if bulbs or things are missing is that when you start your vehicle, all the dash lights should come on and then go out. If it doesn't come on or they stay on... that usually means there is a problem. This is one of the quick ways to see if the used car you are buying has an airbag or it has been borrowed.

OK so I replaced the HICAS and 4WD bulbs in my stock cluster. Started the car and all lights came on, and then went out.....except for the 4WD light. Took a quick drive around the block and it never went out. I'll check the fluid level tomorrow in the day light. If the fluid is ok, what else could cause this warning light to stay on?

        Thanks!

If you check out the attessa unit in the trunk it flashes a code when it is not working properly. The manual will tell you what the code means. I think there was also a thread that indicated what each code was.

Sweet!! I'll search for it. Hopefully it will also say how to get the code to flash.

ok im going through huge problems with mine i can send you all the codes if you want and to get it to happen turn ur key to the on position then look at your atessa ecu left side of trunk attached beside speakers, little circular glass there with a red led light that will flash, and to test your AWD go on a dirt road and have a friend watch your front wheels do a burnout.

Took the car for a drive up to my buddy's place in Walkerton and after about 40km the HICAS light came on and it stayed on. I made a pit stop for coffee in Orangeville and when I started the car, the HICAS light came on and clear. After about 40km the HICAS light came on again. I finally took a look today. The HICAS reservoir appears to be at a normal level. If the reservoir is still there I have to believe that the rest of the system is intact. Any ideas why it would only come on after driving a certain distance?

Also, I checked my 4WD fluid level and it is sitting right on the min line. I'm going to grab some Nissan P/S fluid and top it up. Hopefully this will clear the 4WD light on the dash.

                  Thanks for the help guys!

My HICAS softcodes each and everytime I do around 100kms on the highway without turning off the ignition. One of my cheap rim's bent, so I presume a sensors picks up the vibration.
