  • Ready to burn this stupid car!!!!

First it was tranny replaced, then axle, then headgasket, then engine, now clutch.

I have ALL tranny bolts off, wires unhooked, rear and front diff but the GD tranny will not free the dowel pins??? I am doing this with axel stands and 2 jacks. Should I let the rear of the tranny drop down to pull it off or jack it up??
I have driven my car less then 50 KM in the last 2 years due to all the problems and would love to get at least a month out of it this year.

    Any help is appreciated,
    frustrated NBSKYLINE

did you remove your shifter? also loosen the 2 motor mount bolts a bit so you can tilt it down a bit more. A pry bar comes in handy here but try not to bend the thin plate in between

I know how it feels, don't give up. It will be worth it in the end.

The tranny will slide out easiest if it's level with the rest of the engine

we just finished removing the engine from a friends GTR, we had the engine supported with a engine crane, the tranny on two floor jackets, the input shaft doesn't like to come out unless it is level with the motor, remove the shifter assembly, tie the rear driveshaft up out of the way, lower the tranny down abit in the back to clear the driveshaft, then lift the motor off the mounts abit, it took us a day to slowly wiggle the tranny off the motor, slowly moving the motor ahead, and pulling the tranny back. it wasn't easy and took three body's. We will be putting in the new motor and tranny in one piece. Keep on fighting, it will come out.

          Good luck, Ken

              Quite generous of you James!

Btw, I'm gonna have the Skyline in Moncton next summer...my research comes first so my Skyline's gonna follow me. I have a friend that bought a house and he has a big garage, it's way better than leaving the GTR next to the curb in a student-housing neighbourhood...

Hope you find an end with your glitches, NBskyline!
