Sick, the rev goes up very quickly lol However, I will keep doing my research. You guys are welcome to give me your opinions but i don't think my friend was right when he said a stroker kit can cost 3.5k. it's more like 5.5k at the cheapest.

I'm wondering if the GT-SS will do 500whp with 91 octane pump fuel (I think Quebec has 93 if I'm not mistaking). They will have to be running 21+ psi. I might be wrong but I think 500 whp is a bit to much. If I'm wrong please correct this. I always liked the 2860-5 because of our lower octane level 91. They could push more air without worrying about detonation.

exactly, 3.5k is about half of a stroker.

of course a stroker kit will add response. I know you want to believe a 2.6 is best but it just isn't. I'm sure those guys would even agree.

If you pay attention to the video you will notice them asking if the bore is expanded (not the stroke) and they say no. The mines car has a lot of tricks to help response. (Knife edge crank, 4.11 gears, titanium rods)

A stroker is not needed for the gt-ss turbo set. These where designed to run on 2.6 or 2.7. The response from these turbos should be fantastic even with a stock trim motor. A set of 264's and some cam timing would help response considerably though.
Also in my opinion 500 whp should be the absolute limit on pump fuel.

I'm starting to realise that 400whp was SUPER EASY to get but getting another 100whp will cost me around 3x more and I would reach its max. No more possible upgrade.

Guess I will stick with that 500whp goal and then I will upgrade my suspension and then a BBK ..lol Then, we will be 5 years later, and I will figure it out later !!haha

ya, too high. Most of the aus guys run around 380-440whp on stock and aftermarket cam shafts.
I run the GTSS kit on my 26. I never had it on a dyno but id say mine was approx 360 max on stock cams and 1 bar.

Def need to boost them up to at least 20psi to get over 440 on them with cams.

on a side note. I have some rb30's I can sell for a grand.

If you go rwd you wont need tpo put mush more into it to get going. Thats the cheapest stroker your going to find.

I ran a rb30 in my cefiro for a bit. I didnt have hardly over 2 grand in the whole engine with new head gasket and a rb25n/a head. But I was only on a stock rb20 turbo (which would see 1 bar boost in natural no load) hahaa. AWD tho, costs considerably more but for the most part is getting a decent deal on the sump plate. Still cheap imo.

Eric Hsu was saying stock cams max out at 500hp.

Stock RB20DET cams = roughly 560hp at engine or 500whp with adjustable camgears -

RB26 with stock cams, adjustable camgears should be similar, maybe more hp due to being 2.6 litre.

                        haha. whats the comparison?

that was also a project dyno build. 35psi on a to4z. I cant believe they got that many runs on that engine.

For the GT-SS kit, here is a much better comparison to give you a good idea of what to look farward to.

think of the GT-SS kit with 260/260 cams as the edlebrock performer kit with cam and intake for a chev 350. Its a very tame build. You need bigger turbos for 500whp. That power is just out of element for the GTSS kit.

I thought if I can make 400whp with no cam, cam gear, 6 puck ( it's proven a ligthweight twin plate flywheel gives like 10whp) , 17psi and no coilpacks. ( let say 1psi= approx. +5whp). 500whp would be the max but it would be quite possible. Ok, mayne 485ish but it's still pretty close.

and then I could add water-meth or even nitrous( Let's be Fast and Furious lolll!)

Is that a long block, manifolds, turbo provisions, sump and mounts? I doubt an Rb30 would fit in an s13 without modding too much....... Which Rb30? the weaker one or the one that's turbo ready?

                              What about harnesses, and sensors?

I didn't do extensive research on the rb30 but I think it will be too complicated because of all the custom works involved and the fact that my mechanic don't want to do it I will have to pay 65$/hour to work on the rb30.

I think I will simply stay with the RB26. A 2.8 seems like a better choice because there's less custom involved but still pretty pricey.

I was thinking Camshaft 260... or 264 something basic. and mitch32 told me about the water-meth kit. Look like a nice project no?

And maybe, MAYBE ( because I love to brag that I have GTSS turbos with no-lag at all, yeah I'm a bit cocky about these lol), I would swap my turbo for -5 in order to get that extra 50whp.
