    Hi,

I changed my O2 sensors recently and I know where you are coming from. Get yourself a set of metric "Crows Feet" wrenches. They are similar to open end wrenches but they go onto a rachet wrench. Use in conjunction with extention and you'll be able to switch them out. Best part is, you won't need to remove any intake piping. 5 minutes tops. Hope this helps. Good luck.

yeah, those are a bitC* sometimes hey. Its hard to get anything other than a 17mm stubby wrench and all the O2 sockets are for the larger size sensor.

If their going on the trash just cut the wires off and fit on a 17mm deep socket and there ya go. Or do what was mentioned above. Make sure your new sensors will fir in the bungs before you go ahead with this or your going to run into that problem.

You cant solder the wires for o2 sensors. They are stainless wires and even with flux, the solder wont run. Just use crimps in this situation. Ghetto looking but better than a crap connection.

Or try to get a proper O2 that plugs in. I know they are out there, I just forget what car or number they are. Maybe someone here can pop in?

What I did was make my own 17mm O2 sensor socket. get a 17mm deep socket from canadian tire and cut a channel down the side. works perfect for me.

I had to add on 18 inch of wire because the bung on the a/m pipe was further on my lancer. Never had a problem with my weld and O2 working great. Maybe those are different?

I had no problem changing mine. I my custom 17mm shortened wrench. I put a little slit on the box end to fit the wires through. Add a little heat in the right spot and you should have it. Sometimes taking a second to think about it helps too!
