  • clutch problems bent fork?

    Hey so all of the sudden my clutch pedal stopped coming all the way back up after push in the clutch. it come about half of the way up than stops. i can pull it up the rest of the way and it will make like a popping noise and stay all the way up but as soon as i push in the clutch to shift it pops again and doesnt come up all the way again. its really hard to shift some times its almost impossible to get into the gears. if i dont pull the pedal bak to the top and just leave it half way down there is no popping noise. i checked the fluid and its full. only other thing i can think of is clutch fork possibly bent. i recently just spent $200 bucks on all brand new fluids all redline for my tranny diffs and transfer case and am going to be doing that this weekend. but any ideas?

    Throw out bearing sounds like its seizing on the shaft.

        Could be a broken clutch pivot? See if the shift fork loose. The pivot would break before the fork would bend most likely.
        If you take the dust cover off you can stick a flexible magnet pick-up in the bell housing and fish around for the broken piece to be certain..

          Typical ef-up is;
          Broken pivot bolt (people typically go to a Nismo strengthened variation - but it's disputible as to whether its REALLY better than oem)
          -you can usually hear something clanging around in there, but what the above person mentioned is right! It'll eff up before the fork goes

          Air in the lines
          - if you didnt bleed properly, the popping could be the slave burping due to air

          Slave could be done..

          1 Check your pivot, 2 bleed again, 3 check how the slave returns and see if it's leaking

            i dont hear anything clanging around. the tranny makes like a humming noise at low rpms so i am thinking it might be throw out bearing. i dont think its air in the lines because the fluid is full and i havent bleed it and there have been no problems for 4 months until now.

              agree with above post.

              Sometimes the slave`s just slowly loose build up pressure. First thing that you should do is just get under to look at whats going on. If the fork is loose as a goose, then you prob have a problem with the pin ball. I dont think you have a problem with the bearing.

              If everything looks good under the car, fluid id up, it might be the slave. if you pump hard like 30+ times, see if the peddle starts to come back to its normal position. If it does, I would guess either slave or cyl and your loosing over all pressure. I`ve been in that situation several times. Never once has the bearing seized to the diaphrams on the pressure plate. if it did seize, your peddle would be around the same but you would hear some rough sounds.
