  • ECU information

Hey everybody. I searched like crazy but cannot find much ecu information. Search owns me on this board... anyways, I picke dup a modified ecu and I would like to know what it is, and what mods it supports if possible.

    What is on the ecu:
-Stickers that say Sakurai-R, and Play GT! with what looks like Apex above it?
-Looks like 7DP written on the back
    -Chip says MEC-R127 8RY24-03
-Has a daughter board (knock?), and a dial with Japanese writing and an LED

From what I could find I guess the dial is for a diag mode? Any info would be awesome! Thanks a lot.

Dial is on all ECU's as is LED; like you said, diagnostic mode.

We cant tell you for sure - issue is, a tune is a tune for a specific car, not all tunes are the same. Impossible to know what's be done.. The daughterboard is likely not nistune, but another companies application, thus may or may not be able accessible via consult.. Only way to know is to get someone with nistune software and consult cable to run the application and see if the map can be pulled from the memory.

Try searching the company names and ID badges to see if it comes up with something?

Daugther board that's inside stock ECU is the knock board. It processes signals from knocks sensors and turns them into a knock count figure.

You can install ECU into car, download maps from ECU via Consult cable, Nistune tuning software on laptop. Then compare to stock maps, tables and see where tune has been modified. Nistune allows comparisons between 2x tunes, so it would be obvious where it's been changed and for what reason if you know how to tune ECU's.
